So, I finally joined the twentieth century, and forked out for Netflix.
First, testing, and it appears the Apple TV does nice HD stuff, but oddly, the PS3 only seems to play videos in standard def. Or at least Stargate Atlantis' opening looked MULTITUDES better playing through everything but the PS3!! So, if you are considering doing Netflix on your telly, PS3 isn't the best way to go.
After various tests were complete, the first thing I actually sat down was Mike Birbiglia's stand up show, "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend", which was great!
I'd previously considered Netflix to be all about the movies, and hadn't even contemplated the oodles of great stand-up content that would be on the thing.
I've never really been a movie buff, preferring TV series. I guess, as a kid, growing up with great shows like ATeam, Knight Rider and Street Hawk, I never really saw the point in "one new James Bond gadget, every couple of years." when there was a constant influx of new cool techy funstuffs being crammed through the TV each week!!
... I get the distinct feeling my Netflix playlist will be lacking in movies!!

At the time of writing this newsletter, something's going a little bit screwy with the server. The whole thing seems to go through periods of "403 - Forbidden" sessions, seemingly shutting down Socoder, AGameAWeek and my archive, all in one fowl swoop.
I've tweeted back and forth with GoDaddy a few times, but the problem's far too intermittent, and between me going "NOW!!", and them finally getting around to looking at it, the problem's damn well fixed itself again.
Grrr!
Could it be a hacking attempt?
I'm not sure. I get the feeling that a hack would lockdown a specific part of the site, not the entire server. It's very curious, and I'm trying my best to figure it out.
My best guess is that since Socoder's on a shared hosting package, there's something back going on elsewhere..
