program for making games

gamebuilder.zip (4.352kB)

I've been working on this project for a while, and now I wanted to show it. I wrapped the World editor up in a trial creator, the 3D modeling tool is a full version.
I haven't gotten around to writing the helpfiles yet, however here are two temp. short versions:

Please tell me what you think, if it works etc.

Looks good.

Haven't downloaded it.

Will it be the latest Blitz killer.

Like all "Click to make game!" programs, I clicked a few things, became baffled, and started to cry.

I really don't have a clue how to work these things.
Quite how anyone ever managed to make anything, ever, with Klik'n'Play is beyond me.

It looks very nice, It's well presented, and the Flowchart Coding thing is quite a neat idea too.
You might very well be onto a winner!

Thanks a lot, Ingenium, P.Mousey and Jayenkai! I don't think it offers Blitz any competition, Mousey, because it isn't intended for complex games.
Hmm, Jay .. about the click-and-play accessibility .. I suppose that is due to the missing helpfiles? Maybe I could intergrate the help in the main program somehow ? I will look into this. Thanks for the feedback!

No, I wouldn't worry about it. It's just me. I can't even handle Visual Studio! Gimme a plain screen with text entry any day!

yeah, I even tried TGC too.

Multimedia Fusion seems so complex and cumbersome too.

Heh .. try pressing F7 in the Basic editor

Uploaded a new version .. seems the trialmaker caused some problems with the camera during runtime.

Hey Bram its good to see you have pretty much finished this project. Must have been a lot of work. I downloaded it, but have been busy so havent got around to playing with this yet. Still the earlier versions were very nice, and I expect this will be better so i'll give it a 5

hey bram,

and also everybody else too

here is a link to Multimedia Fusion.
what I was referring to.

it does look cool at first.

but hey bram..not to take anything away from your gamebuilder. Who knows??? Maybe as you develop it
further it will be released as a Virtual Reality game builder.

Hey thanks, I'm still looking for a good name .. I think "Bram's Gamebuilder" is a but dull :/
So "VR Game Builder" .. noted
I did look at other gamekits, but what I needed was a program that I could explain in a 6 lessons course to children aged 9-12, with no programming experience. I liked giving the couse, because I started out programming when I were still a kid, and it somewhat reminded me of the good old days ..

thank you,

I remember when you started this, you've worked a long time on it, and now it's almost finished. I liked the modeller, it was simple and easy to use. I also liked the flowchart coding, but it was quite hard to navigate from the top to the bottom quickly.

However, I couldn't run the breakout game, but that's probably just my computer acting weird. Good work!
Friday, 20 April 2007, 12:02
Thanks! No, it is not your PC I'm afraid .. I was hoping the breakout problem was gone now. Unfortunally, it doesn't occur on all PC's, so I need to barrow somebody elses PC next week to work further on this problem.

The flowcard programming gave some trouble during the courses. I saw it on Lego Mindstorms, and I though it was a good idea. But during the course, I noticed it's really difficult to keep an overview of the program.
If I ever make a 2.0 version, I'll either make a better design or replace it with a common text-based interface.
In the meanwhile, I will try and make it easier to navigate. Thanks for the advice! And thanks for trying the program offcourse

Looks very nice; if you keep it up you might be able to sell it and make millions! (er, maybe not that much but you get the point)

true, it does look very nice
and with that cool and hip style nowadays.

Not stale nor dry like a Cad program...making it look
on appearance like too hard or too stuffy and complex.

serious bram,
this is professional and fun at the same time.
FTP it!! Fine Tune and Polish....as in Fine Tape Polish

Does anyone have a copy of this still ?

The webpage is not accessible, and archive does not have a copy of it.

After 11 years, probably not.

That original filesize was 4.xxKb? 4 Kilobytes! Let that sink in... Fuuuuuuuuu
