    Had another rough week, this week, mostly being sick in the mornings, then feeling shitty for the rest of the day. This is no way to live :/

    I started a game in PMC, late last week, but again grew bored of it ten minutes into the project.
    My head wants to sleep, but my mind wants to code. I'm getting neither done.

    What did you get done this week.
  • Visited old friends. Yay!
  • Started to transition the loading code in Project Dollhouse from using ulong IDs (which cannot be mapped to specific archives without string comparison), to using FileIDs (which can be mapped to archives).
  • Realized that I needed a tool to map FileIDs for archived and unarchived files used by TSO.

    Did everything turn out as planned?
    No. I realized that unarchived files don't have FileIDs, and that mapping FileIDs during startup takes too long. Thus I needed a tool to do it!

  • Finish transitioning the loading code.

    What are you working on right now?

    Recreating Mr. Shipper, the internal tool used by Maxis to create packingslips for all their assets. I need XML files listing the FileIDs and archive name for the assets in the uigraphics folder.

    How's that going?

    Not so good - waaayyyy too much to do at university!

    What's the plan for the week ahead?
  • Continue Mr. Shipper.
  • Finish review for student newspaper.
  • Inform the editors that I'm postponing an article for the student newspaper, cos I have waaayyyy too much to do.
  • Make a video (we have a video training course right now, where we're learning about video journalism)!
