You know when you've got the PC on and you hear an odd noise.....

Fuck knows! Sat here, minding my own business and BOSH! God-awful rattling noise happens. Shut the power off immediately thinking the hard drive had failed in a massive way (before realising I have SSDs), open up the side and see the fan blade lying in the bottom of the case.

I have 2x140mm intake fans, and this was one of 'em. I found a Corsair 120mm fan in my box of shit, but the wire on it isn't long enough to reach the fan connector, so I ended up moving the exhaust fan to the front (same size, same length of wire), and putting the spare 120mm in the back.

This fan came with the case (Corsair Obsidian 750D) so it's not a bottom-of-the-barrel brand. But even so, in almost twenty years of PC'ing, I've never seen this happen.

Could anything been sucked thru it? Found anything else in your case?

Not a chance. The whole front vent has a mesh filter, and there's a detachable solid panel in front of that.

Nothing else in there except some dust.

Must have been a weak blade then... I havent seen this before either!
