Snake type game.

In case you haven't noticed, I've been a bit quiet lately. I've been toying around with AGK-2 over the past few weeks and have a bit of a project going on. This is by no means anywhere near finished yet, I've got so many things I want to try out with this game.

I've so far tested this on Windows and on Android. The dynamic onscreen control works pretty danm well on Android, you can either use a swipe action or just keep your finger on the screen and the gamepad centre will automatically jump to where your finger is when you stop moving it. No more having to keep looking where the controls are so that you can concentrate more on actually playing.

I'm not sure when I will be uploading this yet, but I'm aiming to do that quite soon.

Here's some footage of the onscreen control system. I used the mouse on Windows for this, but it works far better with a real finger on the Android device.

That ugly unfolded box area marker won't be visible in the release build, it's only intended for debugging purposes. The control system still works completely fine without the markers.

Nicely! Reminds me I need to push they are everywhere out at some point, after I've written up the ports that is.

Web / Game Dev, occasionally finishes off coding games also!

Yeah, if there's one thing I've learned over the past few years, it's that Mouse Controls are MASSIVELY different to Touch Controls.
You can sit there and code a perfect mouse-driven menu, then try it with a finger, only to be shocked that nothing bloody well works properly!
Given that, for the most part, the code is all the same for both types of input, there's somehow a drastic difference between the two. Really quite odd.

But, good to see that AGK-2 works well. Good luck!

Looking good

I'd perhaps add a symbol to each different coin though to differentiate for people with colour blindness - even if you just use "Y" for Yellow, "B" for Blue etc.

@Jay: AGK-2 works really well, right out of the box. I'm planning to move over to Tier-2 in due course.

@rockford: Those graphics are very placeholder stage at the moment Ian. Might have a go at making them look better myself, if it still looks like it's gonna drill a few eyeballs then I may need to outsource.
