I really regret not backing the Next, but having been burned a few times I will never back another kickstarter/indiegogo ever. Here's hoping they are able to put these up for sale because I'd actually really like one.

With respect to the actual case, I don't think it's that bad. Spectrum +'s were feckin' shite so this is like 100x better

You'll just have to look after it. Use latex gloves while touching it.
Additionally, stick it in a glass display unit when not in use, and always spray it with a can of air after every use
