Put The Wah-Wah In Your Guitar

I've only ever known of Leslie speakers being used in church organs, and more recently in one of Sam Battle's (Look Mum No Computer) incarnations. This is the first time I've seen it used as a wah-wah generator on a guitar amp.

David Gilmour used it, John Kay used it, Leslie West and Jerry Garcia experimented with it. Slash has used it. Many guitarists of lesser caliber have used it. I think on some old stuff Steve Winwood was using it for one or two songs. Jeff Baxter did on some of the stuff with Steely Dan, but not when he was with the Doobie Brothers.

Hammond used to have a list on the artist page, of guitarists who used the Leslie line.

Thing is now adays with the circuit modeling, so many are using the digital versions.

The G37 is still EXTREMELY popular, especially for studio use. There are a couple of other models aimed at guitarists that are still readily available.

I wish they would add a Leslie to my Gigboard.

I was reading about a recording technique where you have one or more swinging microphones in a studio to record music that people are playing. Kind of reminds me of this rotating speaker.
