Jayenkai	The Russian Discussion Had an email earlier, suggesting that the Russian debate probably shouldn't be happening on a programming forum, and I kinda agreed. It comes under the "Politics/Religion, etc" heading, really. I moved the old thread over to the Admin section (I can move it back to the open if you all agree it's important enough to be here.) I don't want to over-moderate, here. This is really important shit, and I'm really in two minds over what we should do. Does it belong, or doesn't it?! -=-=- ''Load, Next List!''

rockford	I think it's hard to have a forum and not comment on events that will affect every single one of us. If you want this place JUST to be about coding, then it's going to get real quiet, real quick. I posted a story earlier which hopefully was something a bit more light-hearted, despite the seriousness. I really don't think anyone here is overdoing it - there are allready horror stories about the conflict, but no mention of those here. I believe in self censorship - if I don't want to see/read/hear something I won't - I'll turn off/turn over/tune out. Perhaps have a section devoted to politics and world news? IIRC You were the first one on SoCoder to mention the current conflict... I personally believe everything (legal) should be fair game if others might find it useful to discuss. The world is a scary place and this is mostly a comfort zone, but trying to hide from scary stuff rarely results in scary stuff not happening.

Kuron	Damn, people should be at the station I work at. Two studios, 48 hours of programming per day and 80 hosts. Lots of Russia talk, from both sides. I had to fill in and handle the morning drive this morning by myself and for two hours I gave my views on the situation. Personally, I choose not to live in fear, especially of things I cannot control. I am old enough to have lived through the cold war, and we never really cared about it back then. FWIW, my GF & I keep all of you in our prayers every night.
