Lego advent calendars this year

Mrs H has now got a thing for lego. She's found a lego advent calendar. Not had one for a while.

The mini figures look good but I'm struggling to identify the random blocks?

Stereo Boombox and casette, weapons rack, candy cane, Their orange Benatar ship, Milano starship, Red Star Seeker?, Xmas present, toolbox, needler gun thing, roast turkey dinner, armoured snowman, drinks caddy, and a sleigh?

Maybe.

Trying to figure out WTF half the things are supposed to be, is all part of the fun of a LEGO Advent Calendar!

Yep, as Jay says, not knowing what they're supposed to be adds to the fun!

Oh, and ...

Spoilers!!!!

Haven't started looking for Advent calendars yet, this year, but I did spend a couple of hours getting Dall-E to generate little pictures for all the numbers over the course of Advent of Creativity.. I used NightCafe last year, so figured it might be fun to see how well DallE can cope, and .. Good grief, trying to get it to draw a number 21 was hard as hell!!!!

.. I have a lot of 12's though.

Looking forward to it. I think...

I've not started looking yet; as always I'll be trying to find that one "Special" calendar - but will that be special in a good way, or not....?

I had made sure to get all of my unused Advent calendars I had brought from Maryland to TN, and took them to the apartment in TN. Also bought a couple of new ones while at the apt.

Unfortunately, in meeting Zoe and relocating here, I had to consolidate everything I own so it would fit into a Chevy mini van. Needless to say, the Advent calendars were not important enough, nor were 35 guitars and tons of studio gear that had to stay behind, but I digress...

I am out of the Advent calendar game and will not be participating...

Awwwww

I almost didn't last year, but the fidget toy one just popped up and it was a hit, rather than a shit (for the most part).

I'll start looking in Jaunary.

Yeah, I'm struggling here, too.
Mystical Gems, makeup and Funko..
God knows I'd rather put on daily makeup than buy a calendar full of fucking miniature Funko Pops..

That Purple Cow calendar company have expanded a fair bit. They have a "science daily" calendar, which if last year's crafting box is anything to go by, will have little boxes that contain things like a small bit of cotton wool.. and the description asks you to put it into a test tube.. with some plutonium.. 'cos.. you know.. we all have random science supplies lying around the house.

Other than the typical Lego, I'm really not seeing anything amazing this year.
Holding out for a Degustabox Calendar, I reckon.

Am I getting too old for this??! ...

Perhaps get Mum to do the daily makeup one?

Mum has too many allergies to dare it. She has a very strict selection of "known" makeups, and even her jewellery has to be specifically sought so as not to risk a flare up.

Jewellery is a weird one for me, nowadays I mainly buy stainless steel. I can't wear fake gold or fake silver. I can wear sterling silver around my neck, but gold breaks me out around my neck. I can wear gold on my fingers, but sterling silver breaks me out on my fingers. WTF??

I understand the weird allergies and I won't even get into body soaps and laundry detergents and deodorants and the horrid (and often bloody) rashes they can give me.

The life of a Kuron is not an easy one...

Nearly 30 quid for those?, what a ripoff.

That's like a third of what ebayers are charging for a Raspberry Pi zero and even that's a rippoff.

OK..
Bought 2 sets of 12 Mystery boxes off of Amazon.
They're..

*shudder*
Funko....
*shudder again*
*shudder a third time*

12 in each box, and they even come with the shop-shelf outer case, too, which is nice

They cost a fucking fortune, and they're easy to find if you do a google/amazon search, so .. No spoilers!
I am looking forward to them, though.

.. In spite of them being ...
*shudders*
Funko...
*shudders head off*

Are they a varied range of Pops or they all from one franchise?

I almost got a Gremlins Advent calendar a couple of years ago - it was lovely, but pricey.

I want cheap tat that I can take the piss out of and just give away/donate to a charity shop rather than stuff I'll want to gather dust in a display. That's one of the reasons I never get the Lego Advent calendars, despite my love for Lego.

You'll be happy to hear. They aren't Pops..
There's two different ranges here, and .. assuming they're as nice as they promise to be, they oughta end up taking pride and place on my shelves.

Oh, go on then..
That price sure has crept up since last year, though. Crikey..
