You've been terribly busy with coding lots of stuff up this month also I'm sure

Golly! Hope the advent of creativity goes well


To Do:
Add shot collisions with invulnerable enemies - DONE
Add explosions from dead enemies
Add some sorta transition from one level to the next - on a timer after the last item has been collected and the last enemy destroyed.
Add lives - DONE
Add game over / new high score result - SORTA DONE - NEEDS A DELAY AND LIL DITTY FOR EACH INSTANCE
Make pausing / unpausing more obvious - DONE
Maybe add a boss battle of some sort. - BOSS IS DESIGNED
Add difficulty curve ( faster enemies, etc over time)
Add sfx - LOTS DONE

Thanks When it's all come together I hope it is! Jjust added some more wall types which seem to be working. I'll have to throw together a level designer of some sort tomorrow night.

Maybe the walls should absorb shots? I'm not going to worry about enemies passing through walls though, it'll only cause there to be too much going on per frame.

Wandering about the exit being a wandering monster which can't hurt you directly but which spawns enemies whilst the parts aren't all collected.

Added a spawning enemy blob which turns into an exit tonight.

Next up, actual levels, some controls over difficulty, high scores and a boss battle hopefully!

Tested the game out on a NES yesterday whilst demoing it to my friend I'm making it for, as well as anyone else who fancies playing it

It was nice to see it on a CRT although 50Hz feels so slow compared to 60Hz so I might make it a bit faster and the scroller had a background colour glitch where the emulator had hidden that I hadn't set the background attribute tiles so, that was cool.

Gonna make a level editor tonight and see if I can get that working over the weekend.

During my early DS dev'ing days, I gave up trying to rely on a single emulator. They lie!!! Ended up having 3 emulators on hand, and even then the real DS would throw up the occasional unseen glitch.
Grrr!

Cool! I remember making a simple minesweeper game on the DS wayyy back when but didn't get much further then that and getting some asteroids physics thing with scrolling going on there.

In the process of ordering some easier to use boards which will make cartridge production a little bit simpler

Regretfully it's taken up an awful lot of time so I can't commit to many of the other Chrimbo bits on the site this year but I might be able to re-skin it for something festive before Chrimbo

My only other Chrimbo make is going to be some clothing get-up for Kiko, as I've seen this www.dollskill.com/products/naughty-little-helper-costume-set and refuse to pay £69 (lol) for something I could probably make at home in 2/3 evenings.

Probably from my opportunistic overtaking during the practice round, still i got the 2nd best lap time, qualified 3rd and finished 2.5s behind 1st

Just errr, died after sunday evening when the adrenalin and booze wore off, couldn't really move my neck until tuesday night, curses!

Only relief I have ever found from when I had whiplash (and the neck problems I have had since then) is using the heavy pulsing setting on a cheapo shower head and getting it as hot as I can stand and letting it hit me in the neck and moving my body around slowly so it massages the neck.

Hoodies take a while to make sadly, although I was recently gifted a sewing machine so I should probably figure that out at some point!

Thankfully my neck and wrist have done a good recovery job.

Sortted out a couple more features inside hidden game this morning before work, should get some more bits done tonight, fingers crossed I'll get the november game finished in January and then the January game finished in.....

On a semi-related note, getting a quote from a UK company that should be able to make sturdy NES styled boxes, just waiting to see what the price of making a small batch is.
