Can anybody recommend a good NES emulator for Windows?

Zophar's Domain has been my goto place for finding emulators, since.. *shrugs* The 90s!?
Here's their NES selection
Their main news page is frequently updated with recent additions.

I like FCEUX. It's pretty accurate, nice debugging stuff on there also. I don't recommend Nintendulator as it doesn't produce a reliable FPS but does give a handy view of which sprites are active in memory.

Web / Game Dev, occasionally finishes off coding games also!

There's OpenEMU which will seemingly run all manner of things. I've not tried its NES capabilities, but it does my GBA, SNES and PSX games well enough.

Cool! Might have a looksy into it's debugging capabilities.

Oh, I don't think it does anything particularly debuggery. It tends to just use off-the-shelf emulators, and bundles it all into a package.

As far as debugging goes, I haven't tested it, but the No$ guy has done a NES emulator.

I haven't tried any of his newer ones, but his No$CPC and GB were, at one time, the BEST emulators for debugging.

Reminds me of this video series from javidx9 where he creates an NES emulator from scratch.

I am trying them in the order posted, so far Dan's is working well. Talking about golf games made me miss my NES Golf and my GB Golf. Haven't touched emulators in many, many years.

Among the things left behind were a GBC with a golf cartridge and a NES clone with a NES Golf cartridge affixed in it permanently so you never had to worry about having to clean the cart. I liked NES Golf so much when they quit making tube TVs, I went out and bought two new ones and left one in the box so I could keep using my NES Golf game and my TI-99/4A and my HYRDA and FUZEBox.

Golf Story (not really a true golf sim) is excellent on the Switch. It's more like an RPG with Golf elements and progression. Highly recommended if you've got a Switch. Cheap too.
