Changing the 3-digit security code on your card.. Linkage

I like the idea, but the card will become bulkier with even the thinnest of screens (and what about the battery?), more liable to breakages/errors with a screen and cost more to produce (the cost will be pushed back to consumers). What about hackers, once they learn how to intercept and adapt the code generation? Actually, nope. This is a terrible idea.

Indeed. I think we can safely put this down to the land of unimaginable pipe-dreams.
It'll never happen!

You can bend, drop, even put it through the wash no problem.

Really? I mean, REALLY?

Well, if they work, every card will have them at some point.

That second article though cleared up a couple of things. As I said, I like the idea (for extra security), but I am sceptical.

I still consider the whole "contactless cards" a security risk. The whole point of chip & pin was to improve security, but what do I know

Apple's trying so hard to make your phone work like your card, they never once thought that your card could become your phone!!!
That's gotta be one kick-ass battery life!!

Three years according to that second site. However, it's probably uses an e-ink type display. Very efficient.
