To Make A Movie

Lights, Camera, Caffine!

I've had crunch times before with deadlines. They are not fun. I am in the middle of one such crunch time; we have a short movie that has to be postmarked by monday in order to enter it into the first of several contests and film festivals. What this means is that I was up till 4:00 working on 3D graphics and compositing and will be heading back to the trenches with my two other coproducers fairly soon, most likely ending late tonight aswell in spite of the fact that I also have to wake up for school tomorrow at around 6:30. There is a capilary that feels the desire to bulge out of the side of my face while my head is wide awake and my body says "go back to sleep". It is not a fun sensation. Moral: Some times you run out of time even when you don't procrastinate, but you still have to get the job done.

hate it when that happens, quite recently me and my freind were going to make a movie for the "MOE" or movies of excellence contest at our school were you pick one of the "gateway" books, wich are books that are specialy choosen by librarians to be read by highschool kids. so we picked a book but due to power outages and ice storms we had to postpone makeing it until the weekend before it was due, becasue we were doing it in claymation we had to build little sets and make all the people and what not but the wood we got for the sets was crap and we couldnt use it so we had to wait until about noon on saturday to even really start working on it and seeing as how my freind had to leave on saturday night things just didnt work out. but when we started i said, failure is not an option, so after failing to do a claymation i made a cartoon useing windows moviemaker, animation shop, and paint shop pro. i did get that done though, its not great, but its something, and since noone else entered i automaticaly win, dont know when i get the $100 dollars and whatever else they are going to give me. anyways good luck with your movie, whats it about?

hey,

Spider Webs!

Can't tell you about the movie. I'm actually designing and watching the movie as it forms in my mind.
I'll just say this for now: the main character that I have chosen and identify with is Jack Black. true.

But he is not eating his Nacho Libres.

added new editey post: whoa, mister magic.
whoa there, magicman. thats one of the lonegest runon to runoff sentences-paragraphs that I have read.
Maybe you need some comma itis and perioditis too.

Movie is about a couple of guys that get sucked into a game and have to play their way out of it. Because of this, most of it was done on a blue screen with a lot of compositing. We shot it entirely in HD aswell. It has as of monday at like 15:00 EST been finished and submitted before the post office closed at 16:00 EST.

hey mister magic
and instinct,

Spider Webs....the movie, that I'm living and watching at times as it unfolds. Quick, give me paper and pen to write down story, characters, dialogue, scenes!

Spider Webs does involve some people or some of the characters getting caught up in playing a Everquest morph-like game. But thats only part of the story.
Lets say Jack(Jack Black) enters a special room. A lot of noises and screamings and rantings are coming out from it and a lot of bright and flickering lights from the glass pane of the door. He is curious, anxious, little fearful and slightly opens the door... and, and

well...the rest I leave to your imaginations. true.

to continue...
and with this sequence:

Jack(Jack Black) is both anxious, little scared but nervous about whats going on inside behind this closed door
where a big huge sign reads 'Authorized Personnel Only'
He looks around with both excitement and cautioness and picks the lock.....um a skill he picked up from a dubious past and in his young rebellious ways...and picks the lock.
He slightly opens the door and is hit with a barrage of blinding lights, and sensational surround sounds blasting him from all sides. He closes the door suddenly.
Then, forcing himself and adjusting to the new found sensations and intensities of lights and sounds, he slowly opens the door and ever so slightly.

He peeks in and...and.. he sees

<must think....about this...side and plot twists. hmmmmm. >

whoa....hey steve(steve ancell) I think you will understand and relate. true.

Jack first sees all white in a room but some holes. They look black and/or greyish. He hears laughter and talking from some people but sees nothing...except for the all whiteness and lights of the room. And also a few black or grey fuzzy holes.
Then suddenly...the room changes where he is standing
next to some tables where these people are hooked up and immersed in this virtual reality multiplayer Everquest like game. All these people oblivious to him..and with the head gear, power gloves, thermo spandex body suits, etic.
He is shocked and surprised.

He looks further and he sees at the front this person garbed in a priestly like virtual suit leading the others in the session.
From behind him, he hears someone utter in a soft echo whisper...'Dungeon Master'. Jack turns around and sees...

Hehehehe, random story Mousy, but with a deep, deep, deep meaning, i think

Deadlines, the Madproff had to make a movie for a full school assembly and he had one deadline, that turned into another, and another, on retrospect, we should have just made posters, rather than get a team of people joined together to create an asssembly, being in year 8 (12-13 years old) of a school up to upper sixth (18 years old i think).

It ended in a mess, thankfully, only the person who was speaking about the event was in anyway burned, of course, as you might guess, the person who was speaking was myself, this left me in a rather bad situation, it tought me many things. 1.Deadlines should be met to make things easyier
2.Never do a public speach in front of your entire school
3.Never trust the Madproff to make a presentation because he'll go way overboard
