The End of FTP

Firefox disables FTP

Firefox have disabled FTP downloads in the latest version, and will even be removing the functionality in the future.
Yikes! Now I feel old!!

Back in my day, all Files were downloaded via FTP, and webpages by HTTP.
I know I did it. It's just the way it was.
But somewhere along the way, HTTP because the default file-download method, as servers became more stable, and downloads got quicker.

Still. I bet there are TONS of sites out there that still do it.
Do you still do it?
Might be time to make that change.

Farewell, FTP.

Yeah, I've recently had to use FTP to download files as there's still a few websites out there that run that way. Not many mind.

There's always Filezilla though, and ,well, older versions of Browsers.

I've never given it a thought, I just click a link and it downloads.

Filezilla FTW, although for quick file-wrangling it's usually the built-in FTP and dual-panel functionality of Directory Opus.
