creating and designing new animation sequences and behavoirs for such 3d models(pre-exisitng and created by others...but free to use) such as Xeon dancing, attacking, doing his aerobics and even falling down and dying; teletubbie boppin up and down and jumping across the whole screen; and also even having a Dragon Knight riding on his steed across the screen is cool and awesome. And also with various colored background screens and images.

Yet, after a few months....I like to learn more and take my next few steps along in the world of Blitz3d programming.
Like...for example...to place Xeon into a 3d world or 3d level and have him move and interact in it.
I just am confused and need some help and have a few questions.

I'm confused over about sky boxes, sky cubes, floors, ceilings, walls, doors and also what constitutes a 3d level and a 3d world??
what kind of file formats for both 3d levels and 3d worlds? and where can I find some freeware or at least shareware 3d levels and 3d worlds?
are there some tutorials, articles, examples of 3d levels,3d worlds and placing 3d objects and models and manipulating them in these worlds or levels??

thank you,

Heya, Mousey!

BlitzResearch have released Maplet for free, which is a tool for creating 3D dungeons, rooms, levels, etc.

For the out-doors, a heightmap such as this can be used to generate a terrain where dark=lowlands and bright=highlands.

This is the command you need... LoadTerrain. Scale your terrain by some big numbers to get bigger mountains, otherwise it'll look like flat-land.

thank you Hobo.

that information will help me to take a few more small steps in 3d graphics and especially programming in Blitz3d.

I will definitely check into this Maplet.
and thank you for the map to the heights of the treasures of the terrains.

cheers,

ahhhh!!!,

for some more test code I'll put a 3d model in the grassy terrain I created. Maybe, a 3d model of a cat moving about.
yep!!...especially of Garfield the cat...if I can find a free or shareware one. Or even Odie too.
'Break My Stride' song by Matthew Wilder as well as 'Baker Street' by Gerry Rafferty really inspire me weirdly and creatively too.

*edit--> here I go and stride about and google the Garfield. hope so.
