I always wanted a game boy flash cart. But they were state of the art back then and cost far more thAn I could afford.

I'll be glad if I can get a hold of the people who live there next week, see if I can get the mail redirected, assuming of course, that someone lives in the old house!

Figured out how to manipulate the first sound channel in a semi-decent way, just need to figure out a good way to create and err...compile? The music!

Neat!

1. You're still not bouncing on the floor, and are instead bouncing below it.

2. Don't forget about "SUPER"!
Acts exactly like Combo, +1 each time you pass a spike, but resets to 0 if you release the button.
Score = Score + (Combo * Super)

3. Best Score so far..

4. The "Top Score" on the titlescreen doesn't always match your best score..

Well noticed! I'd begun implementing the super sound effect tonight, will look into visual feedback and proper score increments for those tomorrow for sure! They are harder to detect than regular combos, but I'm sure I'll find a reliable way soon hope you liked the riff on your intro there btw

Managed to tidy up the supers and just adding a couple of extra game modes, so far not ran out of rom / ram.

GB Dislike

Think I'm going to call it done for now, unless there are any massive bugs I've not noticed.

I'll begin porting They Are Everywhere across perhaps next!

It's been really interesting and fun making a game with just integer values, no strings, sine, cos, any advanced math beyond modulo, +,-,/,* and most of the integers being stuck to between 0 and 255, hence the limiting of the combo to a maximum of 99!

Scores are stored using an array of unsigned ints limited to 0-9 so I can avoid any unnecessary long integers or long long integers!

Sine tables are used to some nice effects and playing with the sound registers to mimic the frequency increase with the combos was quite the challenge, but proved to make sense after I'd eventually got my head around it.

tldr; I've learnt a bit of C and gotten a handle on the GBDK and some of it's oddities!

Not a fan of "Inv". I tried that in SD2 (The "Testcard Chaos" level) but found it frustratingly difficult!!
But it fits in well

The Hard mode seems a little too wiggly. Perhaps a slower wiggle might be harder to cope with, but as it is, they're just "Twice as tall" because they're moving so fast.

(PS : Handy Hint : If you stick to the same filename, the download page keeps an archive of all the old versions.)

.. But.. Yeay!!
SpikeDislike on a GameBoy!

I'm sure I can slow down the wiggle tonight.

Is it okay for me to share this file on the twitters Jay? I will of course credit you for the inspiration.

Is there a place or person who will make custom carts for GB games? I'm a collector so I want SpikeDislike GB and the like on their own dedicated carts, and it's alway what I wanna do if/when I commission rychan up there for my stuff.

Huh, commissioning me for a Gameboy game? I mean, I could.

I couldn't do a production run of one of Jay's games without his express permission though.

Also, since Spetember last year I'd probably want to re-visit how my first conversion of Spike Dislike runs. Anyhoo, it's a possibility.

Just visited your site Ninjinster, good luck with the 2600 development, ASM is hard!
