LOL. But at least it's free space and de-cluttered.

Ok, now we're in dust city!!!

We've emptied the bottom-most shelf, removed it, and emptied out the underneath and beside-area, too.
Edge, GamesTM, Retrogamer, Nintendo magazine, Xbox magazine, Dreamcast magazine.
Binned.
The lot of 'em.
Apart from Retro Gamer issues 1-16 or so (the original batch before they got bought out)
Retro Gamer issue 100
Edge issue 100
And my odd magazines with me in.

The rest are sat in the outside porch, and will be going to the recycling bin in fortnightly batches.

There's also all my books, there.. I have bookshelves, but they're full of Star Trek Starships
In addition, two piles of Trek books that are my friend Kenneth's. He "donated" them when moving house. I've asked him if he wants them back, or if they're going to the charity shop.

*phew*
We've done a lot today.

Please ignore the fact that there's two carpets!!!
,. And no carpet, too!!

The No carpet was under my sister's built in wardrobe.
The red carpet was in front of her built in wardrobe.
The beige carpet was in front of my giant pile of crap on the floor!!

.. need new carpet, now!!!

Part One..
> Reveal 🔎

We'll probably leave the larger unit for a day or so.. Might even end up calling my Uncle to come help.
The smaller unit wasn't "too" hard to put together, but there were a few "get inside, and screw this screw that's right at the top" moments.
When doing the smaller unit it was plausible to turn it onto it's side, to make those easier. But I imagine the larger one won't exactly do that!
I couldn't duck down under the unit AND tilt my head up to look at the screw. It caused very very bad fluid movement. I tried, but we resorted to turning it over.
(Mum's back's gone so she couldn't bend down too much, either.)

But, yeah, we managed one.
I'm not so sure we'll manage the other.

As for how it looks. Looks great! The nice Malm drawers roll in and out lovely-like.
The plug extension socket's now in the way of the drawers, (or rather, it will be, once the other drawers are done) what with it being a tower-based one.
I asked on Twitter if anyone could suggest a nice low/flat plug-and-wire-based charger for my iPad and MacBook, and Dave Geekanoids suggested a nice looking one. Bit pricey, right now, considering I've paid out a pissing fortune on the drawers!!
For now I'll switch it out with a plain flat extension cord and see if I can trail it up onto the wall above the drawers. That's probably the better option, I think.

*ugh* so much more to do..
The organisation of the room hasn't yet begun!

Those magazines will sell on any retro gaming forum on facebook, etc, if you decide to sell them instead.

Good luck on the rest of the re-rooming

Mum struggled...
Today we were going to do the larger 6 drawer unit, but Mum was absolutely shattered, and her back's really starting to play up.
We left things for today, then.

> Reveal 🔎

Tomorrow I'll finish off the drawers, and from there it's time to start emptying all of the many shelves around the room, and reorganising the whole entire everything..
You can see one of the shelves in the above picture. There's more of those, containing dvds, a Red Dwarf collection of books and more dvds, a complete Stargate dvd set, all the LEGO, and then all those god damned Star Trek Starships..

Not to mention finding space for the computers and consoles..

Had to get a pack of 4 LR44 batteries for that. Took 2 of them. Got 2 left. Gud gud.
Happy times.
Huzzah!!

Today was a good day!

-=-=-

Grabbed my little screwdriver kit and tried (for about 20 mins) to figure out how to open my 13th Doctor Sonic Screwdriver. (Take the one "bottom" screw out, then slide off the bottom towards you.)
The irony of having to use a screwdriver to fix a Sonic Screwdriver has not been lost on me.
Finally got it open and...
Oh, it doesn't take a AAA..
It takes..
...
*sigh*

LR44s.
..
3 of them.

GOD DAMNIT!!!

Bookcase shelves so far.

Dreamcast games next, methinks.
Note : I have a lot of noodles \o/yeay\o/
Note 2 : Whilst things are in their current condition, that BRAND NEW DESK is getting awfully cluttered!

Love the little lego shelf display.

I had to give up on the Star Trek ships. I've almost got as many as I can see in your photo but I don't have the space to display them so they're in a bag doing nothing now. Well I do have Captain Protons ship on my desk.

Clicky for Biggy

Stargate, Red Dwarf, and a few odds and sods fill the entire length of the top shelves now.
There are more DVD's behind them, but.. when was the last time I put ANY of these into my DVD drive, other than to rip them!?!
To be honest, I might even take a whole bunch down to the Charity shop. Not sure why I'm keeping them all..
Hmm..

Lower down, shelf A now has all the Dreamcast games all in a line, but also a bunch of mugs in front.
The mugs will be shifted over to the back of shelf B, then A and B will have little trinket things along the front. I have a ton of little figures, all over the place, that need good shelf space.

Shelf C and the adjacent Lego shelf.. I might move the Lego to the right hand, then use the left hand shelves to put my Amstrad games. Cassettes fit lovely into onto that shelf.
... Hmmm..

Meanwhile, over on the other side of the room..

Today's Plan
My actual official birthday present is a new 24" TV for the bedroom.
It's arriving today, so the plan is, wake up early, empty the area, wait for package!

The Reality
Area was cleared by about 8am.
Package won't arrive until after 4pm.

Fuxake..
Whole day ruined!!

Poor Spock's been leaning over for so long, he no longer appears to want to stand up straight. Not sure why that is.
I'll have to build him some crutches, or something.
