QOTD : If you had a time machine, where/when would you go, and why?

I would go back and try to succeed where Guy Fawkes failed !

I would go back a couple of weeks and remember to use my usual lottery numbers instead of a 'lucky dip'. Would have have had 5 numbers plus the bonus ball... No, hang on, I would probably go way into the future to see if we humans ever get on with each other and what technology we have then, maybe 1000 years or so.

I'd go back to Roman times. On Vulcan's fat cock: pillaging and rape FTW!

I'd go back to the late 80's and buy shares in companies that are big now such as microsoft, and tell my self to sell them such as before windows me/vista,

Lacking the capacity to predict repercussions of any changes I made, I probably wouldn't bother.
Or I'd pick a relatively peaceful and prosperous time period and just move there.
But I'd probably miss the Internet.

That's tough: either far in the future or far in the past. To try to figure out where we've been and where we're going.

Side Note: Does anyone else think that DD's posts (also referring to the second post made in the other QOTD) seem out of character?

It's too many late nights with not enough time during the day.

In regards to my post above, I recently finished watching the awesome Rome seasons 1 and 2. That is where I took my inspiration for my destination in time. Although I am thinking myself that maybe it sounded better in my head then on screen.

A second place I'd like to visit would be in the not too distant future, just 50 or 100 years from now. I often feel down about technology because there are so many theoretical pieces of technology being built (nano-bots, fusion reactors, networks with more bandwidth then our PCs can handle, augmentations) which would revolutionise the way we live today. I'd like to live with those technologies, using them as normal.

I always wanted to see the October Revolution as it happened. Someone should make a movie about it, starring Brad Pitt!

Edit: And Johnny Depp!

Agreed, except changing yesterday would probably be okay.

Dear Future Time-travellers: Specifically, this yesterday would be handy!

Too many places to mention. I'd like to talk with all historical leaders, find out what made them make the choices they made, how they thought. History leaves us all with a shortage of information, and we can only ever guess what was going on in the minds of the propelling persons. If I could only witness one event, I'd pick Big Bang. And I'd make sure to stock up with popcorn and sunglasses beforehand.

@DD: Sorry if I offended, I was just concerned having had my account jacked and then abused before. I know how the long days go, been having too many of those myself. Let's hope we both get a little more time on our hands!
