First Blitcoder gets killed... Then Coders Workshop... Now the Christian Coders network is showing scars !.

www.christiancoders.com/

Unless it gets fixed before anybody gets to read this thread .

No, we're invincible...except for that time our one server failed...and then the next one did...and...ok, nevermind.

We could develop a crazy over complex system to failproof it (i.e. multipul servers, duplicate databases, etc) but thats a bit nuts.

I'll stick to the regular database backups. Most of everything else (other than "Your uploads" files) is already on my system, since I save it to the HD's version of the site before uploading it. Shouldn't be too long of a downtime if anything bad happens.
(He says, hoping it doesn't happen too soon.)

I'm slightly worried about CDN's lack of things, right now. I have a worrying feeling it could rapidly end up stalling, in much the same way that Devcrunch did.

Hopefully the admin can get something decent up and running in the next week or so, but building up from a ready-made forum doesn't sound like a good plan to me.
I'd much rather they started from scratch and were able to manage everything much more hands-on.

But hey, that's just me.. They still have Krylar as an active member, and I'm sure he'd help out if they start struggling.

Maybe Christian Coders will link up to you if you email them?

I've posted a nice little thing on the topic I linked to.
But.. I didn't start banging on about Socoder. Let's not get into THAT again!

I'm not sure if it's a good idea for them to link to us, right now. If they did that, most people would probably end up staying here, once they've spotted the showcase/articles/etc.
True, that'd be good for us but for a site trying to rebuild it'd not be the best start.

Give them time.

a i was expecting this since feb.
they announced they were making a new site.
they had a nice concept of what the main page could look like.
fresh new look while keeping true to the old cc colours.

i would like to an archive post but web archive don't seem to work for me around this hour (mid night to 8 am GMT)

i found it on google
google cashe of the post

CCN has been using the same site layout for the last 7+ years and as many of you know it’s getting old, dusty and crapping out a lot of us. In fact I barely have to worry about the 30 spam bots that join the forums everyday because the forum software is so old that the bots can’t post. Guess that really isn’t a bad thing. ;-P

I’ve been scrapping towards purchasing the CCN domain for a 3 year term (I appreciate those willing to donate but I can’t allow you to do that) and I have some aspirations on what Version 2 of the site would look like but I want to hear everyones feedback on what they’d like to see. I’m talking about everything; from colours, to layout to content, etc. I’ll be taking everyones consideration and melding it into a pot to formulate what the next site could be.

Now I’m no web master by any means, I’m just the guy with the (limited) cash. I have some friends who are willing to get things rolling but I may have to turn to you guys for help in coding parts of the site. The only thing I could really offer is probably status in the forum, but I’ll work that out later.

Anyways, I want to hear everyones ideas and feedbacks on what you think we as an admin team could do to bring this site up to standards.

power mousey

why was CCN hit by a series of Dos attacks?

I know from reading various new sites and other sources
that Red China and other countries are training more and more cyber-warriors.

So sounds like ChristianCoders.com is going threw the same process as BlitzCoder.com when we switched to CodersWorkshop.com.

Why don't they just keep the domain name and update the site? Honestly, I think ChristianCoders.com is a better domain than ChristianDevs.com.
