Ups

What did you get done this week.
  • More Spike Dislike
  • More Cassette 50 games

Did everything turn out as planned?
One of them did. The other did not.
    Well.. Kinda.
It DID turn out as Planned, it's just the plan isn't really going all that well.
To be honest, I might scrap the Cassette 50 project.
I don't seem to be "tweaking" them enough, and they're just resulting in horrible little crappy games.

    Downs

    What didn't you get done?
    That "Newsletter" thing.

    Why not?
    Juggling too many balls!

    Now

What are you working on right now?
    I'm thinking Spike Dislike!!

    How's that going?
    Today, Audio work!
I'm going to need the PC for this bit.

    Next

What's the plan for the week ahead?
Make a decision on the Cassette 50 issue.

    Ups

What did you get done this week.
  • My last exam of the Winter (Maths: Mechanics 1)
  • Some planning out and coding on RotZS
  • Hosted (and am still hosting) a German exchange student

Did everything turn out as planned?
Should've done more coding, but I've been pretty lazy this week. Exam wasn't too bad, and hosting is pretty fun now the initial hecticness has calmed down.

    Downs

    What didn't you get done?
  • As much coding as I should have
  • Various odds and sods I've been meaning to do

    Why not?
    Laziness.

    Now

What are you working on right now?
I accidentally my evening thanks to Minecraft and my inability to remember when I ate tea. Currently doing some coding.

    How's that going?
"I'll stop when it's time for food."
    ...
8pm: "Waaaaiiiittt.... I ate as soon as I got home."

    Next

What's the plan for the week ahead?
  • Coding
  • Be more un-lazy

    Ups

What did you get done this week.

The Graphics for the eNews page I do.

Did everything turn out as planned?

Yes. The Graphics were done on time and I'm adjusting the color while waiting for the text from the east coast.

    Downs

None really. Except for my need to be super picky about it being beautiful.

    Now

Readying myself for the next month which will be march. I do have some time to try that Purebasic syntax again since i've finally learned types in BB2d.

    How's that going?

The graphics usually go well with my getting an idea from a shape. Learning a new Programming language syntax usually goes better if I have a manual, or hard copy, in front of me. This will not be happening soon since the current printer prices here can be as high as 0.25 cents (US) per page. (Times 800. You get the idea.)

    Next
Waiting for the news text so that I can format it into the images.

What's the plan for the week ahead?

Slowly grinding myself into learning Purebasic somewhat, hoping that the language is still as great as some claim it to be. I'll also be finishing my program for which i posted the sub portion problem.

    Ups

What did you get done this week.
  • Got my Atari working
  • Got my PLAY Atari working
  • Got my dads Atari working (had to clean rust from some IC's, not good)
  • I have dads Atari hooked up to his laptop via SIO2PC cable so I can use the laptop to emulate disk drives.
  • I have a copy of SpartaDos X 4.42 burned to my maxflash 8mb cartridge and the config for it setup on my 16mb emulated HD!

Did everything turn out as planned?
Mostly! My dads Atari was stored in a box, in a room that had a leak from the hot water tank. Mold and moisture set in the room before we knew what happened. Its basically a storage room. At any rate his Atari works 75%. I had to take some Isopropyl alcohol and a soft bristled tooth brush and clean away rust from the OS upgrade he had in it. Lots of scrubbing! And there was rust all over one side of an IC that helps control the memory, and the 256k upgrade he has in it is wired to that IC so that is the 25% im not sure about. The machine boots up fine with the 3 OS's he has in it. But not sure if all the memory is showing up. Replacing the IC will only cost me $1.95 + shipping so its not a bad thing!

    Downs

    What didn't you get done?
  • Dads Atari not 100%
  • Coding Platdude XL
  • Wifes car died on her on the WAY TO work, so I had to get up early this morning and go and fix it in the rain. Luckily I knew what the problem was and it was an easy fix. So what was it that I did not get done? SLEEP IN!

    Why not?
I might have to replace that IC in dads Atari and resolder a couple of wires to it. I havent coded Platdude XL (good name? how about Platdude A8?) cuz I was busy repairing the Atari's. Plus I have to sew a hole in one of the cushions on our couch! Plus I had to find a smaller monitor for the Ataris! The 1 I had was taking up all the room on the kitchen table! And we know why I didnt get any sleep!

    Now

What are you working on right now?
Cooking supper! No really I am right now. Rotisserie chichen. I have a machine for it! Basically I am trying to get all the tools and my stuff that I am going to need for my Atari organized before I get serious.

    How's that going?
Supper? Smoothly! Love this machine! Ok seriously I am working on it slowly. Its just a matter of getting all my stuff digitized onto my pc and everything transfered to my 16mb HD image on the laptop for my Atari! This way I will have all I need on that one HD image. Yes 16mb is enough! Talking Atari here....Not a 3200+ amd quad core 8gb 3200 ram....la la la. Worst case scenario I can have up to 8 drives emulated for my atari with at the most 16mb each! Thats 128mb of storage space! Plus I can swap the images out at will so I technically have unlimited storage space only limited by the HD space on my laptop! I have an external 500gb hd for that!

    Next

What's the plan for the week ahead?
  • Hopefully start coding Platdude XL
  • Have dads Atari working 100%
  • Make a custom mount for this MadCatz 7in. TFT LCD screen that I am using for my dads Atari so it will fit on top of it nice and neatly!

    Sort of, yes, and yes.

    Downs

    What didn't you get done?
  • Preparation for some work
  • Coding
  • Suggesting replacement forums.

    Why not?
Not bothered, not bothered, nervous about being told off.

    Now

What are you working on right now?
    Reading, typing, editing.

    How's that going?
    Done, doing, not yet.

    Next
