I have now decided that it's about time I swung in the right direction and am now the owner of a shiny new monkey licence.

Will be fun to see what new discoveries you make! Will you be attempting Monkey Pi?!

So far, after I downloaded last night, the version I got from the Share-it link refused to load by gaving me a MSVCP100.dll not found message.

I downloaded the latest WinXP version from my account on the monkey site, but it don't target WinXP. It would be handy to debug on my PC rather than keep having to squirt it across to my phone, in the case of Android dev, or having to keep squirting over to the RasPi or any other devices every time I want to test something.

Yeah, I completely intend on trying this out on the Raspberry Pi, I will keep you posted.

You need to install all the bits and pieces to get the different targets up and running.

Open up c:\monkey (or wherever you installed it)\bin\config.winnt.txt and it pretty much lists all the different apps/sdks/etc that you need for each specific target.

For what it's worth, I typically tend to use the HTML5 target for the majority of my dev-time, only switching targets when I need to double-check something, or test that it's working at all!

Thanks for the tip Jay, I will look into that.

Is it worth me using the Flash target or is HTML5 fast enough yet?.

HTML5's fine. You can't do much in the way of sprite recolouring with HTML5, but everything else is nice and fast. Rotations, Scaling, Transparency, and everything else is as good as expected, just not recolouring.

Don't know if you care Jay, but all your games are detecting as Apps rather than Games. Might be worth changing the default manifest doodad in monkeys ouya target.

The ouya launcher doesn't anymore, it used to. Those two unofficial launchers still do though.

Didn't know there were any unofficial launchers.
Is there any point to them.
Do they add anything?!

They look a little better, one adds some sort of social thingy... Um.... Nt really sure. One of them uses the daisy-keyboard thing which is by far the best text input method I have ever used on a joypad.

Kewly!

..one of these days, I might actually have to try playing my OUYA properly, instead of just having it as yet another testing platform!!

Yep, me too. I honestly have still not tried playing any game other than my own on the machine. AquaVenture is working well BTW
