Socoder -> Wednesday Workshop -> #103 - The Mouse Challenge 2

Wednesday Workshop #103 : The Mouse Challenge 2
Time until Deadline

Week : 6 June 2007
The Reason : I Picked an old workshop.
I had "One Button" in mind, but then it turned out we've already done that fairly recently (#71), so I picked this one instead.

The Challenge : Make a mouse based game.
The last time we did this challenge, I hadn't specified whether you could use mousebuttons or not, and some people got upset after making games that didn't use Mousebuttons.
So.. This time I'll make it specific..

No Mousebuttons.
Only mouse movement may be used.
(Mouse X and Y, not Z or any other!!!)

Weekly Rules/How to Enter
You have until Tuesday Night/Wednesday Morning 00:00 BST to submit your levels. ^ See Deadline Link! ^

Wed.Workshop is at SoCoder.co.nr. If you can read this, you're probably already there!

Stick your entry underneath this post, leaving a link to your zip or the source of your game, or whatever. (I really should get round to that Upload thing, shouldn't I!)

If you can't figure it out, or have a really rubbish server, send it to Jayenkai@Gmail.com and I'll stick it straight onto the SoCoder (Official Wed.Workshop) site.

Entries will be collected during the week, and then entered into the next week's voting. (If there are any entries..)

Please try to keep all entries within small file sizes. 2Mb is the average maximum for files.
Additional Rules are available at the SoCoder (Official Wed.Workshop) site, under the list of previous workshops.

Last Week's Games
Week 102 went as well as Week 101. Hopefully this week will be better.

This weeks looks very simple to make a game for, and it gives me another chance to work on my easy Blitz style graphics API for Java (and add a new feature, a setMousePosition method).

Version 1 is almost complete.

Note : But, obviously, you can use Escape to quit.. But for no other use than that.

Oh, I just thought. I want to be able to press space to restart my game after you've lost.

Maybe you could say we be allowed to use keys and mouse for application aspects, as long as they are outside the gameplay.

Yeah, ok, that's fine.

Apologies for the language, the idea just kinda snowballed!

Thought process : Plan a Sequel > Need text to speech > Can't find old one > Find silly 'Shouty' voice > Consider humorous reason for silly shouty voice > Change 99% of game plan

Result : The Picnic

Ok, heres a start of somthing that i didnt quite finish but i hope to because i think it will make a cool little game. What you do is draw lines to deflect the falling things in order to protect the mindlessly moving things at the bottom. It needs some work, but at least i tried!!

I completely forgot about completing this, so I've just compile what I've done. I've then compiled it a second time into a .exe, as I think more people would try it then. So please excuse the initial message as I couldn't be bothered to look around for a completely free Java to exe program.

Here is my mouse game. Keep the ball inside the mouse for as long as possible. Space to restart, escape to quit.

Magicman, you're late!

If you post an update before I wake up then I'll stick that version up. Otherwise, let me know if the version above it safe to place into the workshop.
