Done. I think it went OK, however, I wasn't the one interviewing me so I don't really know.

Nice that they told you that. The wait can be frustrating!

It really should be illegal to not let an interviewee know (in at least writing) if they got the job or not; the poor buggar took their own time, money (travelling expenses plus maybe new attire), stress and worry to get to your interview.

It makes my blood boil - I've seen it so often with my own son. Even the biggest companies don't bother. Cunts. Nothing but fucking cunts. It's not like it even costs them anything - a simple (FREE) email with "Thankyou for attending blah blah, but you were not successful" can be created and sent in nano-seconds. Grrrrrrrrr. Did I say cunts? Well I'll say it again, Cunts!

And best of luck Spinal

That'd make for an interesting website.. The interviewers' feedback, and whether they bother to respond or not.

Nothing about how the interview itself goes, because people will obviously be pissed off when they don't get a job, so would only ever just rant about it.
Instead, scans or screenshots of the feedback you get.

To be clear, I never got to the interview stage in those other applications, but as the whole thing was automated it would be nice to get a "you have not progressed " email.

Aldi on the other hand, did send a "sorry your not good enough" email. Which was very much appreciated ☺

For what, Aldi warehouse? That’s pretty much your former job, how could they not hire you for that??!
Fussy Aldi!!

If it’s checkout, though, I’ve heard that’s extremely hard to do, with the cashier needing to memorise all the prices in case something doesn’t scan. No time to stop and ask for a price, get the customer through ASAP.

(Although, that’s probably changed a lot, since I first heard about that!!!)

There's no chance of things not scanning in aldi, they wrap the barcodes entirely around the product. But from what I heard, you still need to memorise the fruit and veg barcodes.

I do love the super-long barcodes on Aldi products, especially when they integrate them into the actual design of the packaging.

I use barcodes all the time at work, we have asset and location barcodes... So a fire point somewhere in the plant will have a location barcode on, and that'll tell you where in the plant it is (e.g. Trim and Chassis), as well the grid reference (e.g. J/44) within the plant, and a list of assets tied to that location (e.g. 6ltr foam extinguisher and a 5kg Co2 extinguisher)

Also, each asset has its own asset barcode, which includes the location above (you scan the location in when putting a new asset there), what it is, when it was last serviced etc etc

Pretty handy, especially when your wandering along and find a stray extinguisher thats been moved from its fire point, you can just go "beep", it brings up the details and viola, you know where its from so you can quickly take it home if it hasnt been used or replace it accordingly!

I have an asset number (with matching barcode) as well, lol, I'm number A05085!

The thing is, you do tend to start memorising them, obviously the ones you float around a lot, they just creep in there.

Got a phonecall from the bank with a little feedback about my interview, which was nice of them. Turns out it was simply my lack of interview experience that prevented it from being a really strong interview. I simply didn't go into enough depth with my answers. Which was what I had assumed. (presumed?).
