Got myself signed up with a Personal Trainer, first session is tomorrow, should be fun, but she will possibly the end of me!

Heard back from the publishers again with regards to flap happy, so, that's progressing, will see how quickly things can get to production, although I've sill gbot those NES cartridge boards en-route.

Went to an anime convention with Layla at the weekend, which was fantastic, first time we both went dressed up.

Layla tried out axe throwing, met up with a whole bunch of other cosplayers, had a long chat with one of them dressed up as Pinky Pie, which was great, made a new friend who was dressed up as a Pikachu, got some more cool artwork from someone who recognised us from last time, which is cool and survived an attack from a vicious raptor.

The Dalek who I gave headpats to last time was there, which was great fun giving it some more sass

Oh, and I added more to my holdings in (UFO) Alien Metals, theyre lookin' good!

I did some coding last night on the iPhone. Nothing special, but it had been a while. Minecraft and youtube seems to have been taking a lot of time.

Yesterday I was checking out the artificial intelligence news, and those scientists had released a new <make code out of nothing> thing( https://artificialintelligence-news.com/2022/02/03/deepmind-alphacode-rivals-abilities-human-programmers/ )

I am not sure what this wil do to my motivation. By the time that I actually know how to make and finish a real game, ai wil do it in mass.

I'll join in since its an emergency!

Busy as hell as per... But, dog sitting for my younger brother, I've had Bagel the Beagle staying with me for the last, three months or something...

14 years old and a proper auld codger... Like Victor Meldew with 4 legs... Keeps me on my toes, the little shit!

So, with that, as you can see from the photo, I'm onto the living room of my house, doing it ALLLL up, upstairs, landing and hallway complete, all modernised from the artex infested horrow show setup it was... Anyway, few pics of my livingroom (Sorry for the grainy pics, never changed the bloody quality setting in image processor in PS... D'oh):-

> Reveal 🔎

Erm, that's that, sockets are all on now, got new radiator to hang, new sill board to put on on window, the fire place to sort out (Need to chop the board, and sort inside the opening, using bradstone black flags for hearth, then 3 of the chunkiest bit of timber ever for the surround and mantelpiece, these I rescued (About £100 worth of timber in a skip believe it or not... Thought... I'm having them... Honestly, people dont realise what they are chucking away), though, I need to router the edges of them, stabilise a split in one of them, and then dress the lot up ready for stain.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I need to paint the lot, new carpets, sofa etc etc to go in, but that'll not be until after the dining room is finished, which is next, chimney breast is coming down, french doors in, then, same setup... Get rid of the horrid artex!

So yeah, that's been a thing.

Diving season is back on, been to Browns Bay for a paddle, good to get in, but I'll not tell a lie... 6degrees of cool when you first drop in doesnt half get you... But once the otter socks were in motion, I warmed up, but it was really nice to get down there, visibilty wasnt the best due to the storms kicked up a lot of shite, but it was good enough once you were on top of it, I did two dives then that was me, godda get used to throwing this carcass about through the water again! hehehe

Other then that, just the usual... I havent been out much, went out last weekend for a drink down Durham, had a good night, but nowadays, it costs me the rest of the weekend because... Well... Age innit! I'm usually f'ing knackered now after a good sup!

Ah, it's no 60min makeover, it's taken quite a while to get this far, I'm just picking at it Jay, there's only me, so, it doesnt matter if a room stands for a few weeks with no progress... I just live in me man cave upstairs for now... But I've got everything I need... Me 'puter, Amstrad, PS1, megadrive, master system and a dog that farts quite a lot, and dont I know it, the stinky arse he is!!! :/

I just do stuff when I'm arsed really, no rush, but you have to be careful, believe it or not, when I read your stories... I can only conclude you and your mam are absolute troopers mind, and that's no arse-licking statement either, you's are!

Still chipping away on my Jigsaw game... I need a name if anyone has a suggestion or two

That looks fantastic

The only thing I would say is that the puzzle comes with one or two missing bits. Just like the real world!!!

Nah, seriously, the bits are too well arranged - could you place them randomly around the "board" and in various degrees of rotation? Once you pick them up they could then rotate into a 90 degree angle.

As for names, there are so many Jigsaw games out there that most obvious ones have already been taken, but how about -

- Re-Jigged
- Puzzl'd
- Jiggied
- Jiggle

I saw a jigsaw the other day. One of those impossipuzzle things, which had no edges, only more grooves and pegs along the edges. It also comes with 5 EXTRA pieces in the box!
.. that'd drive me nuts!!

But,yeah, that's looking great, Revills! Good going!

Leg night was okay, although my app which said which exercises to do crashed a lot, soooo I had to guess around a fair amount.

Turns out long, hot baths are great after the gym

Did a decent 80 minute general workout today. looking forward to my next PT session on wednesday, have successfully cut out fizzy dirnks since last wednesday also, this is probably some sort of record for me sadly, still, long may it carry on. Aiming to have lost 1-2kg by the end of February so I can come down from my maximum weight of 95kg, again, likely due to my sedentary nature and habits during lockdowns.

I wander how long it will be until I feel stronger and lose some of the lockdown belly that appeared. Really want to be rid of that.

I've had a busy weekend as well, got most stuff done I wanted really:-

Took the boards off the wall (See old pics above), put some meaty timbers behind for the rad brackets (I brought the wall off the existing wall by 50mm due to a gas pipe going up on the left of the window... That wall should hold a tank now!

Anyway, got the sill board on while I was on, reboarded, taped it... Then proceeded to fire a fan at it to dry the taped joints out!

> Reveal 🔎

So with all that going off, I cut the opening out for the fire, cleared out remaining shite, good hoover, then PVA'd the lot inside to trap all the muck, it'll be getting boarded in there, no tiles or anything on the wall sides, because to be fair, you'll hardly see any of it as it isnt the biggest opening and a stove should fit snug.

> Reveal 🔎

Moving on... I routered and dress the big chods of timber for surround and mantle...

> Reveal 🔎

They turned out well... You'll see an extra bit I have to the left, this is what they looked like when I pulled them out of the skip... Honestly, if you were to buy that you'd be looking at £180-£200 easy I reckon, and, well, mentals are chucking that away man... It's sacrilege... But, Michael has rescued them and all they needed was a bit of love... And a router, sandpaper and elbow grease! lol They are gonna look great!

And finally, once the PVA was off inside the fireplace, I got me hearth bedded down, they are just flag stones really, faux slate if you will, lol, cut in the pissy down rain (typical, been fine all week and the day I do it it lashes down)

> Reveal 🔎

I'll clean them up properly and then eventually get some oil on them to make them shine like a shit house door and they'll look the bees!

I'll give the cement bed a few days to set, then, board inside, get the socket sorted etc etc

So yeah, all good, only thing I didnt get done was hang the rad, but... Meh... I'm pleased though because it's a few crap jobs out of the way! \o/

Cheers Jay!

PVA... The builders friend, not exclusive to Neil Buchanan only!

It's handy stuff for sealing porus surfaces, so when I put the bed in for the hearth, I sealed all the floor bit first with PVA, so when the cement bed went down, the original floor wouldnt suck the life out of it drying it out, giving me a bit of time to get everything level and square (And it helps the mechanical key too).

Handy as out for trapping dust to surfaces too, like, I caked the walls in there with the stuff, even though I hoovered everywhere... Now, I can work inside there now, putting the frame and board up for the little ceiling inside, and doing the socket without getting caked in black sooty shite... Also, I'll be putting splodges of dri-wall adhesive on the walls then sticking the plasterboards on, so, they'll key a lot better now too as it's all sealed!

I use PVA all the time on surfaces, like, as a sealer... Makes applying other things on top sooooo much easier, and again, the bonus is, like I said, you get a better key too.

I hate goblet squats.

Wrecked my upper leg muscle bits at the gym last night again, to the point where I had to stop and consider if I could walk safely...ahhhhhh, at least it means I'm doing some good work on them!

Also did an exercise called car drivers, that was oddly tough.

After those two I fell back to using the machines, mainly to allow myself to recover!

I hurt and will be better by tomorrow morning for my 2nd Personal Trainer sesh.

PT Session #2 yesterday

She absolutely wrecked me!

Which is great, learnt how to use a few more equipment bits, sort out my form a lot on squats, etc. Did a lot of leg work to the point of failure, now stairs and walking down slopes is agony mind!

Maybe just an upper body session tonight eh?

Well, another weekend gone... Another busy little bee...

Ridge tiles... Done...

> Reveal 🔎

Not the best of pointing on the sides, but to be honest, it was pitch black when I got finished on Saturday night... Though, not fussed, they are on, and, in the summer, I think I'll replace the lot with a dry ridge system, no fannying about with buckets of cement if anythng flies off...

Fire surround and mantlepeice is in...

> Reveal 🔎

All patched up and sanded, looks well... Especially next to me TV wall thingy...

> Reveal 🔎

And finally... The radiator is on and connected...

> Reveal 🔎

She's bouncing hot! Hehehe Just need to sand the filler where the pipes come through the wall and a bit along the bottom, should get that tomorrow later on... and that's that I think... All ready for a bit of a paint job, then the rest of the wood work before the final coat! \o/

I dont mind saying mind... But I'm fooking knackered!
