Having had my new Win 11 lappy for a couple of weeks now, I can say that I'm loving it - but not because of Windows 11!

That menu issue I had right at the start - that never, ever goes away. Having to access a second menu to select an option that used to be on the original context menu is fucking dumb and Windows doesn't learn what options you use the most. You are stuck with this incredibly stupid system. Unless you uase some registry magic.

Yep, by just altering a registry address you can get back the old Win <11 context menus that worked so well.

For those that might want to do this (and I suggest you should once you get Win 11) just open Command Prompt and type -

reg add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve

Restart your machine and voila. Sorted.

Why M$? Why? Dumb!

My current Internet laptop (HP) has a numpad on it and I am spoiled, as I do use them and have to use a USB one if the lappie doesn't have one.

I am glad you were able to disable the touch pad. The one on my current laptop has awesome "palm rejection" and I do not notice it is on, but my previous laptop, I had to take apart and unplug the trackpad from the motherboard, as it was a nuisance and I was always hitting it and playing where did my cursor go.

Bought a couple of laptops for the studio right before Carolyn died, so looking forward to unpacking here and getting them set up, will still be awesome for all of my heavy lifting.

Congrats on the new laptop!

How are you all palm'ing your trackpads? That can't be good typing posture...
Sure, disable the "Tap to click", but ... Other than that..

With the heat wave I imagine some are coding naked and having something else flop and hit the trackpad. *rolls eyes*
