HP CA350 - Sample Photo

Ordered this from Play.com about 2 weeks ago. Got delivered to wrong address, nobody in, so went back to depot. Silly postie couldn't read the number on the box.

Anyhoo, it's here now, and seeing as how I found NO things online about it, I figured I'd post my typical 'Gabby/Drink' photo as a sample.

It's a bit 'Gradient'y when doing fine colours..
If you open that right up (1.5Mb!) you can see Gabby's whiteness making things a bit difficult for the poor camera, alongside the little ornamental cat thing.
The grass is blotchy, the bushes are a bit 'art-effect' like, and yet the brickwork on the adjacent house is nice and clear.
Go figure.

There's nice blacks on the pen holder and the chair, Gabby's white, the green bushes are green, the blue pens are blue, and there's a red truck thing across the street that's all nice and red... Decent enough range.

10 Megapixels, £50, Can't really complain..

It's got my 'I'm a cheapskate, and I don't mind showing it' stamp of approval!

Extra shots of cheapness.

Macro on a Bug! Nice and close, detailed, but probably a wee bit too zoomed 'cos it couldn't quite focus correctly!
I tried again, but the bug flew away! d'oh!

The Birds in your Garden. Zoom on full. Not a massive zoom, only 3x, but a good enough zoom methinks.
It can go up to (i think!) 10x zoom using Digital Zoom, but that just looks naff. Ignore digital zoom!

Ooh I saw your video of her drinking water as well...

The camera's nice, but I agree about the 'gradient' thing.

I think I see what you mean about the gradient issue. It seems to make that cat-statue look like it's being rendered on an Amiga, either that or my monitor is crap.

I don't see any gradient issues on Gabby. She has a thick white halo along her back from the light, but she herself looks fine. I suspect it is your monitors to blame.

Gabby herself looks fine. It's the cat statue to the left of her that looks sort of off.

Thought so. I was referring to the statue to the left, does that look OK on your monitor Joe ?

Ah, I do see what you mean with that cat.
