Socoder -> Off Topic -> New image tags. Suggestions?

Yesterday, Phoenix found a lovely Thumbnail thing, here.
It's nice!

So, I scrapped the NoCode image resizing thing, and implemented that last night.

It's nice!!!
BUT.. Due to the way that the code replaces images with urls, I figured it'd get really annoying if you're actually trying to make url linked images.
Therefore I've tweaked the image tags a little, and would like to explain how they all work.

1. [img]Image URL[/img]
This places an image onscreen. Plain and simple.

2. [img_shrink]Big Image URL[/img] (or [/img_shrink], but it's easier to remember /img! )
This places one of the new thumbnail style images onscreen.

The large image is loaded, then scaled down. Click it to enlarge, then drag it about to look at it. Click again to make it shrink.

3. [thumb]Big Image URL[/thumb]
The [thumb] tag works like so..
Imagine your url is col003.png. Save a second smaller version to the same directory/server, under the name col003_thumb.png
The Thumb tag will load the _thumb image into view, and url the larger one.

With the new tags, there'll be a nice new blend thing going on between the two versions.

It's Lovely!!!!

As always, the url info is plain simple <a href's>, so you can of course middle click the images to view them in a seperate tab.

Note : As a slight annoyance, it doesn't seem to be working in the mudchat. I'll be tweaking to see if I can get that working, too, but if not.. It's not that bad! Just remember to middleclick images in the mudchat!

I don't like [img_shrink], but I do like [thumb]. Alternate suggestions of mine include [imgs] (image small/shrink) and [img_url].

[imgs] added, does the same as img_shrink.

What would img_url do that plain img doesn't?

Actually [imgs] looks like it means images. Perhaps [simg] would be better, small/shrink image.

[img_url], that was just a good suggestion. No idea what it would do.

I dont realy care what you call the tag, as long as you keep it.

I think that the thumbnails in the showcases should use the same method. They look lovely though!

Hmm... the image at point number 2 stays permanently full sized, |moan| and when I click it, another one appears that I can drag... shouldn't the first image be shrunk? |moan| Ah well, the second one works, and they're good features! Ty Jay!

Ngh..

Nearly there!

Firefox is fine, and so I don't get any more quirky little error messages in the Error Console I added a Browser test thing, so the site slightly changes it's output if it's being in BLOODY IE!! (Although, of course, this won't be 100% reliable!)

So, IE is now happy, too.
Unfortunately Opera has a Max-width bug in it, which means that tables aren't scaled back once an image is..
Apparently it's being fixed.
Don't blame the site, blame the browser!

If there's any other dodgy browser related issues, let me know.

(And if you spotted the slight break in Socoder, it's because I put the ;'s on the wrong side of the "'s!)
