I just found this...
Dunno if Open Source console, means Indie Friendly. But if it does mean Indie Friendly... It may look ugly, but it's a start.

That's an early render of the system IIRC. Later renders look much nicer.

I've been following the progress of the Pandora for some time now and it looks like it could be a very capable machine. I've got a GP2X and the open-ended design for that has a great community behind it and they're the ones behind this too. It will be completely open source and runs on Linux.

I'm just finishing off my first GP2X game, and I'm well chuffed with it.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when we open Pandora's box

You should know what happened after the opening of Pandoras' Box.

all the evils of mankind sprung out!

but Steve, ouch!!
The price is too hefty for me. With that money or even less
I can buy and develop on a Nintendo DS or even on the XGS 6502. But, I told you the reasons why I'm not getting the XGS 6502.
I'll just stick with the PC and also BlitzMax and the up n coming Nuclear Basic.

cheers

The screen is too small as well.

It looks different though.

There's always something new around the corner. You pay your money and take your chance.

On paper the Pandora is the dog's wotsits. I'm looking forward to seeing it in action, but I think I'll wait until there is something worth using it for.

Just recently I splashed out for an Asus Eee PC, but now I hear a new model is in the works - with a larger screen and expanded memory. D'oh!

I'm planning on getting one of them. Maybe I should wait for the new version, as the tiny screen kind of sucks. That said it depends how much it costs.

Over here The version with a 4 gig hd is about £220; the 8 gig version is like £340. I dont see why anyone would want to bother wasting all that money for an extra 4 gig.

I had a poke about with one in PC world. I wernt too keen on feel of the OS. All the files and the terminal seemed to be hidden away; took about 5 minutes for me to find it. If I get one I'll probably shove X/Ubuntu on it, there seems to be no problems with wireless drivers and since I wont be using as a games machine apt-get should find me pretty much everything I want.
