Socoder -> Off Topic -> Coding music?

What do you folks recommend for music to listen to while coding?

Ideally stuff that gets you pumped up and focused.

Ozric Tentacles does it for me - no vocals, keeps you focused, and quite stimulating all the same.

Classical stuff most recently. I got a CD of classical guitar for Christmas, and it's really been great for coding. Check this out:

Stereolab! Tonnes and tonnes of Stereolab. I'm not actually that big a fan, but pretty much none of their songs try to make any real sense in terms of lyrics. It's more about conveying a feeling, sensation or idea. so I just zone out and concetrate on coding.

Anything instrumental, or with undecypherable lyrics, so I can focus on the task at hand rather than singing along.
SID music's good, as is Japanese music.

I tried Soundtracks for a while, but usually found myself thinking about the movie's plot!!

Anything that gets me in an inspirational mood, really. When I'm coding, I actually try to avoid listening to anything that could disturb me.
I used to be able to listen to Metallica and Slayer when coding, but as you get older it gets harder and harder to focus on two things at the same time.
These days I listen to artists like Enya, Tommy Emmanuel, Don Ross, James Horner, John Williams and Elliott Smith when coding.
Surprisingly, filmscores can be very satisfying to listen to when programming, because they are by their very nature designed to be background music.

Edit: Not that you -have- to focus on metal music when you listen to it, but most metal music is... pretty demanding in that it is so compounding that it almost forces you to focus at least somewhat when listening.

Edit: blanko1324, here's something to redefine your view on classical guitar music

The Buena Vista Social Club albums are also very good to code too. They are good in their own right but are also slow paced and in spanish (so you don't find yourself following the lyrics, unless you speak spanish).

I find that with most latin-based languages (french, german, spanish, italian, etc) my head does catch the odd word, and then attempt to translate it, causing much more distraction than plain english stuff.

The Sea and Cake is another band I'd recommend. They are just kind of nice easy listening. I can't really think how else to describe them.
