Socoder -> PC Gaming -> Category Name...

How come the comment for this category is Windows and linux. And Mac to i suppose????!!!!!!! :@

If anything it should be:
The ultimate Mac, and linux and windows i suppose.

The only compromise i am willing to accept is:
Mac,Windows and Linux

Why does everyone disregard Macs, they're still good for Gaming...

Don't temp me to start the age old

"Mac or Windows or Linux" Arguement, because it will end it you getting in a huff and shouting at me and then breaking your computer, my side of the arguement is:
Each OS has its own individual uses

Ok, but it should at least be something like:
Mac, windows and Linux.

hey MadProff,

my brother...other brother. His name is Wes. He is going over to the Mac side. He has had it with just pure Windows.

He is getting a MAC and with that new operating system. Was it Tiger or Leopard....or something. Oh well one of those wild cats.

Its going to be fully loaded and stocked and also with a better version of Bootcamp or some other program so he can still load and use Windows for some game playing.
But knowing Wes and his digital camera, he is going to use his Mac more for digital photgraphy, films and film making, and also home movies too.

He is so into photography and film making.

cheers,

Hahahaha, well put Jay; I mean honesty, linux is more of a gaming platform than mac and all its drivers are technically in beta! Mac is not a gaming platform; If you haven't noticed the market is all for windows-based machines (i.e. the term PC is generally used for a windows-based machine). I'm not going to argue about "superior" operating systems, but it is indesputible that currently, right now, Windows is the gaming platform.

Theres nothing wrong with macs, they just arnt as used as PC's so not as many people talk about them. personally i wouldn't mind getting a mac, but I hear they are a bit expensive.

The thing is Magicman, i can't believe i'm saying this but, if you had a windows with the same specs as a mac you would find the windows to be more expensive, however, macs are never low spec so you find that when people want a cheep compy they buy a £500 ($950)windows rather than buying a £1000 ($1900) mac, even though the mac has really good value specs, however, they dont advertise or do anything to show this so they loose and windows win,

really i personally don't know to much about the specs of mac vs the price, i have just heard that macs are generally more expensive than PC's, but that could be wrong!

Apples are on a tree but always fall to the floor, where as, windows are windows and always fixed in a constantly high position and never falls down, that represents each company

I bet if they designed a mac that looked just like a PC and acted the same way, people would use it. Its just a "I don't want to have to learn how to use something else".

Jay and everybody else,

there are games for the Mac. Limited and few. But, he has a newer version of Boot Camp and some other programs to emulate Windows XP to play some games on his Mac.
He got the programs from the University and the military.
the University of Washington and also served in the military too.

Most of the time he is going to use the Mac for his digital photography, film making and home movies. Plus for his work at the University too.

For me....other than if some kind of virtual reality console comes out and I think probably Sony will come out with it first, I'm going to get some kind of Mac for my last computer.
But the time is not now. As of now, I'm itching for either a new Desktop or some kind of laptop or notebook. true.

new editey: hey Pieman...I like that analogy. true.

I have to disagree with Pieman a lot.

First, Apple do advertise, just not much in england, the same with microsoft.
Second, everyone in this world is scared of change, and it has been scientifically proven that the Mac OS is easier to use.
Third, Macs are cheaper for the same specs, like you said, and they do offer lower spec machines - the mac mini.
Finally, i doub't your phone can merge calls, has a multitouch display, has a widescreen ipod, can sense which way round it is, has a large screen (which is a touch screen, has a camera and dosen't have a flimsy keypad. It may have some, but not all. Also it looks beautiful...

Also, macs do look nice, and your paying for quality, not flimsy plastic...
