It's The Ungrateful Thread of Present Whinging!!

Join in, as you get 'em

An early start, as friend of the family Sharon drops by. She always lets us open our presents early! \o/yeay\o/

Yum yum, a lovely big bag of mixed sweets. Flumps, drumsticks, and other assorted loveliness.

.. The crap part?
A "lovely" iPad case.
A nice solid plastic lump of plasticky roughness that clings onto the iPad, which takes the nice smooth loveliness that Apple's designers took ages to make feel great, and turns it into something resembling... Um.. Well, it just feels plasticy and shit and ... Euuuurrrgghhhh!!!!
It covers all the buttons, and makes the camera horribly distorted, too.
Christ, this is shit!
The second Sharon leaves, this piece of crap is coming off!!!

Someone gifted me SIXTEEN gift copies of Dota 2 on Steam. That's great and all, but what am I going to do with sixteen copies?

Does anyone want one?

If it wasn't multi-player only I'd offer to take one off your hands, however I'm anti-social so only enjoy single player games on pc

But 16!? That's got to be a Steam bug? :S

I think Valve gave everyone who already owned Dota2 two giftable copies a while ago, so now people are drowning in them. I know quite a few people who have spares floating around with nowhere to go.

The tf2 store apparently values them at around $.20 USD now. And I feel your pain, rockford... I tried to play a game with all bots, but I think I forgot to add myself as a player so it was just AI vs AI. It's a confusing game.

I've spent the past few months buying tech galore, including the iPad and the Lappy, so I too ended up in a "What to get for Xmas!?" situation.
I ended up getting mostly sweets.

Well, I think I posted this somewhere, but, she surprised me with a Raspberry Pi, which is boxed in a Starter Kit... Havent had time to play with it, just gearing up to go out for a few and I'll not be mucking about with it when I get back because I'll probably be half trolleyed!!! \o/ hehehehe

I got the usual crap; clothes, deodorant/shower packs and a swearing stuffed hamster named Harry that actually looks more like a squirrel but I did also get Chrismas dinner at my sister's and above all the beer has been flowing.

Pants. Dress pants. Pants I'll never wear.

I made out well this year though, can't complain too much.

I've had a play with the auld Pi, and, aye, it's a nifty little bit of kit, obviously bare bones at the minute and I'll no doubt have to sudo apt-get install bollocks the life out of it to make it "do stuff", but, aye... Canny, really pleased!

*Dabz now wonders if he can get Bamboo up and running on it?*

She's over the moon with her Kindle Fire too, should've seen her face, especially since I set up an account for her and got her the 50 shades trilogy... Woof Woof!!!

Mum bought me a pair of sweat-pants.. Classic sweat pants, elasticated waist, shitty itchy material. Bleurgh!
I'll NEVER wear them!!!
...
.. I'm wearing them, today, as jeans have metal in them, and might upset the MRI scanner.
Booooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

Good luck with the scan Jay. Is this the final one if you get a clear result?
Thu, 27 Dec 2012, 04:35
Jayenkai
Probably not. With something like this, I expect it'll be a regular scan every few months, to keep an eye on things. So, occasional trundling up to Salford, every few months, for boring scans, then more trundling for the results.
Bah! Bloody tumour!!

Next appointment is a tablet-clinic guy, on New Years Eve. Quite why I have to go all that way for that, I don't know. Surely my GP could handle that!?

Looks swell!!!

And aye, I need a case, it's currently sitting on top of the little bag it comes in, with all the wires hanging out all over the place!

I got a little WiFi dongle thing with it, but, decided to plug it straight into the router, and, when browsing, it's picked up a little!

Smashing little thing it is mind!

I recently received an email stating that I have been gifted a copy of DOTA2 on STEAM - if you are Daddy Pigdog, then Thankyou.
Sat, 05 Jan 2013, 04:27
CodersRule
Nope, that definitely wasn't I. They're spewing Dota 2 invites everywhere. I'd be willing to bet that more Dota 2 invites exist on Steam than users registered on Steam.

I don't even know what DOTA is!!!

Found out it was "Smegal Malicious" from the Retro Remakes forum - he gifted several copies to other peeps.

From what I understand it's an online-only multi-player Diablo/Torchlight type game. Or something.
