When I was working in London, I had a spell living just outside of Brixton called Hearnehill, in a pub called the Brockwell Park Tavern... I was laid on the bed in my room, watching the local news when a report came on, journalist came on the screen, standing outside the pub reporting on a stabbing!

It was rough like, proper bricked it one day when I went to Brixton tube station, and it was closed due to asbestos removal, so, decided to walk to stockwell tube station... Me, white man, walking in a predominantly black area... The grief I got was unreal, everything from being a blood clot to chicken nugget... I had my head down and walked as fast as I could, and the sight of that tube station was the biggest relief I've ever had... Never did it again!
