In just a few short days, it'll be exactly 10 years since BlitzCoder closed it's doors.

May 1st 2004 saw some big changes, as our community lost the majority of the functionality of BC, when it was replaced with the advert riddled, overly commercialised crap-fest that was CodersWorkshop.
Luckily, the evil Idigidragon took care of that, but after all the chaos that ensued, and the general passage of time, (and folk growing up!) we've lost many many members.

I'd like to thank each and every one of you for lingering around, all these many years, and generally keeping me sane. And, more importantly, I'd like to thank Krylar for starting what is one of the best communities I've ever been involved with.

*group hug*

It was indeed a sad day that BC closed for good, but at least we have this place now, which although low in Blitz related stuff, has kept the important things alive. Coding and community spirit. And not necessarily in that order.

And long may it continue.

Just think Jay, a year ago this place could have disappeared too if things hadn't gone your way.

Blitzcoder was the first forum I was ever a member of. I joined it in the seventh grade, and now I am 24 and that is weird.

My first showcase post was a game called "Space Monkeys," and that's how I learned who Jay was.

Did the best I could, based on what little assets I had!

I wonder if anyone has a lovely clean hi-res version of that?
*shrugs*

It used to be possible to access BlitzCoder via the "Wayback Machine" is it still possible to do that so that you can grab the logo?

Let's hope so!

.. I might've even made another new theme, by then, too!
