Wednesday Workshop #097 : The Gameshow Challenge
Time until Deadline

Week : 25 April 2007
The Reason : I was playing Moody's Play your Cards Right again! (I can't get the theme tune out of my head!!! ARGH!!)

The Challenge : Recreate or design your own Classic TV Gameshow.

Extra Info
If your choice of Gameshow has multiple sections, you can shorten it to a "Best of" if you'd like.. (much like Moody's Play your Cards Right)
Doing "Deal or No Deal" is not an option. It's too damn easy!

Weekly Rules/How to Enter
You have until Tuesday Night/Wednesday Morning 00:00 BST to submit your levels. ^ See Deadline Link! ^

Wed.Workshop is at SoCoder.co.nr. If you can read this, you're probably already there!

Stick your entry underneath this post, leaving a link to your zip or the source of your game, or whatever. (I really should get round to that Upload thing, shouldn't I!)

If you can't figure it out, or have a really rubbish server, send it to Jayenkai@Gmail.com and I'll stick it straight onto the SoCoder (Official Wed.Workshop) site.

Entries will be collected during the week, and then entered into the next week's voting. (If there are any entries..)

Please try to keep all entries within small file sizes. 2Mb is the average maximum for files.
Additional Rules are available at the SoCoder (Official Wed.Workshop) site, under the list of previous workshops.

Last Week's Games
Last week, only Blitz3DMan entered, so he wins.

Here is my entry. It's Deal or No Deal. I made it ages ago one night when I bet my brother I could make it in Blitz quicker then he can make it in C++. I lost, but mine does have graphics and is more advanced.

Even then, it's pretty simple.

Deal or no deal must be the worst game show ever invented. I got a friend that plays a flash version of it all the time. I don't know why, its so sad :*(

Diablo, why don't you do stars in their eyes? It would be just as sad, but it would impress me

I only entered it because I made it years ago. I'd like to make a proper entry.

Stars in their Eyes is a brilliant idea, but how to do it? Maybe I could make some sort of sing-a-long game, where you are the Star. But that would just be singing to a picture from Stars in their Eyes.

DiablosDevil I made it ages ago one night

You have 7 days to code your entry. We would prefer that you code your entry entirely within the confines of those 7 days. (although we have no real way of checking.. But we'll be watching )

It only says 'prefer'. Besides, 7 days, a year, what's the difference?

B3D man! Where's your quiz gone?
Just over an hour left, and.. I'm not taking Deal or No Deal! I stated that in the first post!

I didn't see the 'no Deal or No Deal' comment.

I really hope my criticism of Blitz3DMan's questions didn't put him off making a game. It's not that I was trying to have a go or put him down, it's just that many of them were wrong.

I just made my second entry, only took 15 minutes.

....
Is that really your entry?

I mean, if that's really your entry, I'll take the Deal or No Deal!!

Except I wont!

Hey, it's tuesday evening over here and I was just wrapping up my entry by adding 8 more questions as to hit the 50 question mark. Will my entry still be accepted?

What? You didn't accept my entry for the High Score challenge, and that was only 45 minutes late. I demand to be made the winner (of the High Score challenge)!

Alright.
But only if you admit that you only made "Pick a Card" 'cos you thought you'd win by default..

Then I'm submitting them both, and I still demand to win the Highscore challenge. I'll take the Moon on a stick too.

*Sigh*

Stupid DoND.

.. And I haven't read Richard Herring's blog in ages. Must make a note to grab a bunch and stick them on my DS for Work-Reading.

Blitz3DMan, some of your questions are wrong. Of the ones I saw:

Question 40, both 1422 and 76 are composite numbers. Question 43, although in some places they only refer to 2 or 3 seasons, typically there are 4 seasons in the year.

On quite a few questions the correct answer given is wrong. Like it said helium was flammable and that Pi is not a Blitz Basic command.
