My Nana 2 years ago, 93 years old but it never felt like she was going to stop, I hope I never get used to funerals

Gabby the cat
Passed in December 2011, whilst I was lying in bed feeling like shit with another dose of neck cramp.
Trying to sleep it off, agony, etc. My sister brought Gabby up to my room. She'd been deteriorating over the past few weeks, and we knew it was inevitable.
Gabby lay with me for a while and we cuddled.

I once told my boss I'd be fine, and would be back at work in a few days..

It's been so long since I've had a boss that I can't remember, probably though.

Question of the Day : September 23rd

What do you usually wear on your feet around the house?
Fri, 23 Sep 2022, 03:57
rockford
Nothing. I've never owned a pair of slippers or similar. I often walk around the house bare footed. I really feel the heat, so removing my socks helps to cool me (a bit).

I'm a socks person.
Though people seem to insist on buying me slippers at Xmas, I never wear them.
I've never quite got to grips with the floppy backs of slippers flopping around whilst walking, especially when going upstairs, and anything that has a closed back usually ends up being too warm after about 3 minutes of wearing them!

I walk around the house in socks unless the birds are out coz they grab my toes.

I used to be a sock person but been a slipper convert for last 15 years I'd guess.

My house has two cats shedding loads of cat hair which despite regular hoovering is a losing battle and the kitchen tiled floor is blooming freezing.

Slippers are like little shields away for a matt of hair stuck to my soles and the cold shock when getting a drink.

Bought one of these a month or two ago. It's astoundingly good at picking up cat hair from the carpets. Highly recommended.

That looks effective. Is it easy to clean?

I just so happened to buy this: amazon link

Works great, but is more of a scraping action so too harsh for the sofa. Does the job nicely on the carpet and the cats favourite chair.

Yeah, the top has a little flap, and all the (tons!) hair ends up inside it. Open, empty, carry on!

Question of the Day : September 24th

What's your most embarrassing late-night purchase?
Sat, 24 Sep 2022, 02:05
rockford
I've never been embarrassed about anything I've purchased. I don't drink or use substances, so I've only ever ordered stuff that I wanted at the time. I might regret it later, but not because I'm embarrassed.

That 3D printer hasn't had much of any use... :/

But are you embarrassed by the purchase? Regret, maybe. Embarrassment? That's nothing to be embarrass3D (see what I did there? ) about.
Sat, 24 Sep 2022, 06:05
Jayenkai
It's embarrassing that I attempted to do anything in 3D, but gave up so damn quickly.
