Socoder -> Off Topic -> About Campfires

There's something I don't understand about campfires. I mean, I like the idea of having community projects that people can update anytime. Its cool. But lets face it, there's not a lot you can do without including a lot of extra media with any said project.

Is SoCoder planning on modifying campfires to allow media to be uploaded and included with the projects? If not, I would be willing to set up a file uploading system specifically for campfires. I have a campfire project already (the FPS game), but there's not really anything one can do until maps, textures, sounds and whatnot are made available to the project as a whole. I understand there are risks associated with keeping extra media with these projects, but that just goes with the business of running a community.

Let me know what you all think.

I've still not organised any kind of upload system, here yet.
To be honest, I'm worried about possible abuse from possible future idiots. Uploading warez and the like.
In the meantime, the standard* way to include files, is to chuck it online somewhere, and shove in a [url] to it.

* I say Standard.. But the campfire's been pretty much unused, so far!

Alright, that sounds cool. Yeah its a shame there's no real amount of projects active there. I've set up a generic FPS game to start, but of course we'll need graphics and maps and whatnot for it to take any form.

Hmm... I'll see if I can get the FPS game somewhere. I could copy any media someone adds to my own site, making it easily available for everyone.

Originally, the campfire wasn't meant to be used for massive community projects. It was created for small games that people could extend when they were bored, without having to download lots of additional media.
