A proton pack and a ghost trap.

As there is no such thing as ghosts, I'd be spending a night in a house that just makes a few more noises that most houses. So I guess I'd bring the usual shower bag and maybe something to listen to, I tend not to sleep well in a different bed.

Question of the Day : October 23rd

If you could create a computer program to analyse your dreams, what insights do you think it would uncover?
Mon, 23 Oct 2023, 02:04
Jayenkai
If a program could analyse my dreams, it could code half the random game ideas so that I can just finish them off once I'm awake!! \o/yeay\o/

I rarely remember my dreams, but I imagine it'd probably uncover a whole extra load of mess

What cyangames said applies to me as well.

There is much more to the dreams/dreaming, a program can not take everything and every case in account.

The only time since I have lived here in Oregon that I can remember dreaming is the other night when the cat was sleeping next to me and then later on me.

I have noticed that few years ago, then i started learning about it.

Apparently you need to be aware that you do not remember them.
Then you have to put effort in wanting to remember them.
Whenever you awake, stay in bed, preferably with the eyes closed, and think back, if you have had any dreams.

Question of the Day : October 24th

In a world where computers could teleport, what would be the most creative use of their teleportation powers?
Tue, 24 Oct 2023, 02:17
cyangames
When they teleport do cables, etc teleport with them? Just because if not, the best use would be as Sudden Anvils? Oh no, another computer dropping from the sky!!!

If stuff touching it teleports with them, then I imagine food delivery services would go even further through the roof!

I would use it for a "wishing people to the cornfield" type of thing.

Question of the Day : October 25th

What would be the ultimate computer game crossover, combining characters from different games?
Wed, 25 Oct 2023, 04:16
cyangames
The Smash Bros Series has done a pretty good job of that I think.

Spyro & Jazz Jackrabbit combining forces.

I was going to say the same thing. (Smash Bros)
The platform levels in .. um.. Was it the Gamecube one, or the Wii one? Can't remember.. But those platform levels were super fun with all the different characters.
I'd like to see a giant proper platform game with them all in it!

Question of the Day : October 26th

How has the gaming industry changed from the 80s and 90s to now?
Thu, 26 Oct 2023, 00:30
Jayenkai
It's got dull and unimaginative.

Died with the NES, IMHO. That was the last great console. N64 had a chance of being the last great console, and was certainly a good system, but the lack of games compared to NES did it in.

NES was like a modern 2600. The catalog of games was staggering. Loved and well-supported consoles (2600 & NES).

The NES and 2600 shared processor architecture #6502 FTW

2600 is my all-time fave console. NES, as much as I love it, even when new it was problematic getting it to play cartridges that were still new. Continually cleaning and reinserting.

Years ago, when the "clones" started appearing for like $25, I bought one for each of my five fave NES games and stuck the cartridge in there and used epoxy to stick it in place so it could not be removed. They always just worked, but it was a console for each game.

Never had that issue with the 2600, N64, CoCo2 or TI-99/4A. Cartridges just always worked for those.
