Cool!
Did you get a 3d printer?

I've had one for a while Jay, I just tinker around with it now and then. Got a Replicator 2 off Facebook last year, my other one is a crappy Anet-A8.

It was fairly cheap and in good condition too, I paid 100 quid for it.

Noice! How sensitive are they to movement underneath them? I've always wandered this but never asked anyone

Say, if someone walks nearby with a bit of stomp on, does that ruin a print?

Also, I wander if they're decent to paint?

You do have to put it on a fairly sturdy surface, but I don't think footsteps would cause too many issues.
I think it depends on whether the platform on the printer is stablised or not.
Most seem to have springs around the levelling screws, which I assume is little suspension points for the platform.
Mine did. But the bloody thing didn't raise high enough to reach the printer head, so I ended up layering 2 glass panels on it, just so it'd print.
Good grief, that was nothing but frustration.

It ended up in the skip, just before we moved.
:/

I've been minority tempted to try again, buy a more modern one that can do the damn job it was built for.
.. Don't really have any space for one, now, though.
Hmmm..

This is in a sturdy frame, it's this one minus Meowbags.

It would take a mighty whack or a puss jumping in during printing to knock this off kilter.

I think, if I were to buy a new one, it'd have to have 3 colour printing as a minimum. .. 'cos Platdude!

Jason Brooks, AKA Mucky Paws, does that 3-colour stuff and resin prints too. Here's the Replicator 2 from a distance, quite handy having the spool at that location.

Jason Brooks did this recently.

At some point I'm going to have a good sit down and chat with my new next door neighbour. Been here almost a whole year at the end of the month, but owing to me being as reclusive as I've become over the past decade, I've not really felt comfortable...
I really should get out more..

Anyhoo, he owns multiple 3D printers, both resin and filament basic, and does all that painting malarky, as well as selling the results.
