Recast, Navigation-mesh Construction Toolset for Games

Recast is state of the art navigation mesh construction toolset for games.

Recast is accompanied with Detour, path-finding and spatial reasoning toolkit. You can use any navigation mesh with Detour, but of course the data generated with Recast fits perfectly.

For an explanation of using navigation meshes for pathfinding, this article does a good job of showing how they improve over the traditional way point model.

Last time I worried about Pathfinding it was UnrealEd.
