I have been on W8 for a while and kinda like it too.
And it does seem fast. I compared battlefield 3 FPS and its was 1-2 quicker but that could be due to the reinstall.

This is the script, if you are not aware of the CHDK project it is a custom firmware (sort of) for Canon point and shoot cameras that unlocks the potential of the image processor.

Does anyone like time lapse?
I keep tinkering with a script on my camera (I can post if there is demand). It takes time lapse videos but adjusts for the sun coming up etc.
I didn't write it all but I have tweaked it a little.
