Jayenkai	The Polls have been on the frontpage for so long, it's hard to imagine a time without them. But there was one! In the recent Site Survey, GfK suggested it was time to scrap the Polls. I originally added the polls, not as a Poll, but as a fun little minigame. The polls also give you points, and the scores are available on the leaderboard, where Shroomy's still ahead of everyone else, as per usual! (That guy's tapped in! Must be the Monk part of his name.) But, maybe GfK's right... The Polls have served us well, but maybe it's time for a change. If I put something else there, though, I'd want it to be "game-able". If you have any suggestions as to what can replace the polls, pop 'em below. Any ideas are welcome. (Except for the inevitable point where Afr0 pops along to suggest a MiniMMORPG) -=-=- ''Load, Next List!''

GfK	Don't ditch it just cos I said you should! I don't think anybody else backed me up on it. There are a few reasons I suggested it. Number 1, a lot of them don't make any sense; i.e. "which is better? 1. Dog. 2. Fridge. 3. Wooden boat". OK that's not a real poll, but sometimes there's just no logic as to why one option should be better/worse than any other, so do you just pick something at random? Second, we got to a stage where a lot of the polls were being recycled. Third, polls often resulted in a shoutbox comment that launched into a full blown forum thread, which didn't make sense a few days later as you can't remember what the poll said. Fair do's, I should have probably fleshed it out a little when I did the survey.

Jayenkai	A) ALL the polls are recycled! I set it to loop&shuffle, and haven't added any new ones for about a year or two. B) I kinda blame myself for the lack of info in the topics. Jayenkai	I've found myself pondering some kind of "Daily Doodle" thing. A random word appears each day, and you get a small (128x128) area to doodle into, with perhaps limited colour palettes and other such rules. Each day would require a "next day voting" thing, though, so maybe a little too complicated for the frontpage.. ? Thoughts..? -=-=- ''Load, Next List!''
