JL235	It's nice, but you should move all JS to the bottom, push the inlined script tags out into their own JS files, and do the same with the CSS. Then you should find it'll load instantly (or near instant).

JL235	Otherwise I'd say the design is quite good, especially if you don't much web development. Much better then the designs I used to build. Some other things I'd suggest it to reduce the contrast between the backgrounds on the left and right sides. Especially on large monitors, it feels like one side of the page stands out far more then the other. For the title, I'd recommend removing the background, so it's just text. I think you should also use HTML/CSS for this at would be easier to change, and helps to make the site easier for Google to understand (as GoogleBot doesn't read the content in images). I'd also advise removing the dotted border at the bottom of the header, as it just doesn't look right. I actually thought this was initially a selection bug, as browsers add dotted lines around links you have focused. But again, especially if it's something you have quickly put together, it's a really good start. Far better then most programmers websites.
