I love making Nintendo 3DS videos!

Thanks December 2011 Update!

I created a DOS batch file (below) that I run in the same folder as ffmpeg to convert my side-by-side stereo MPEG videos into Nintendo 3DS compatible video AVI files. Special thanks to BrainFreak and the users on spinal's blog for working out the best command line parameters. Please follow that thread -- https://www.socoder.net/index.php?blogs=29000 -- for discussions on adjusting the parameters.

Copying and pasting the following into a convert.bat file. This will convert any video that's a little over an hour into 10 minute blocks for the 3DS. My longest video is 1 hour 4 minutes (hence the artificial limit).

One thing to note that the prefix format XXX_ (where X is any alpha numeric character). My quality recommendations are based on producing a video with a bitrate of roughly 2000 to 3000 kbits/sec. The quality is great on the Nintendo 3DS. Anything higher than 10 is very compressed and ugly IMHO.

To do would be to write this batch script as a loop iterator. Also, I need to fix the missing timestamp problem -- hopefully exiftoolgui will help resolve that. Also detecting the length of the source video and automatically making enough 10 minute loops would be nice. Any 3DS videos created using the batch script now that go beyond the length of your source video will be ~ 14K and can be deleted. No big whoop.

I will post a link to some family friendly content soon. Here are some samples of that content that I have on YouTube using their 3D viewer currently:
