Domination Point

Multiplayer only RTS Game where it's all about supplies.

When this schoolyear started all students had to come up with a game idea. The students with the best few ideas would get picked out and they were allowed to create a team. My idea for Domination Point turned out to be one of them and I created a team of 7 students.

Domination Point is a multiplayer only RTS where it's all about supplies. All units will have stamina which decreases to 0 slowly, lower stamina means less attack power. You will have to make sure to supply them with food because 0 stamina means your unit is dead. The main objective is to take over the domination point and the top center of the map, supply it with 1000 gold and then make sure to keep it for the next 5 minutes. Attacking eachothers cities (except for the domination point) is pretty much impossible.

The only part of this game we didn't make ourself is some of the graphics, as my study isn't about this. Credits can be found at the credits screen.

Now what did _I_ create for this game next to the idea?
- Server software + client-server connection
- Pathfinding
- Fog of War
- GUI code
- Options screen
- Soundplayer
- Very small particle engine (not sure if it's even in this release)
- Axeman voice recordings
- Loads of bugfixing

Note: this game is best played 1v1 online, but probably there isn't any random player waiting for you to join his game. To make sure you can check out the game a bit I've created 10 test games which will reset automatically when you leave them. Also, don't be surprised when you find bugs! I'd love to spend an extra month on this game.

- .NET Framework 4.0 client or higher (web installer comes with setup)
- XNA Framework 4 (comes with setup)
- Screen width of atleast 1280

Spent about 10 mins playing, I think! Probably would be more enjoyable with others playing, though

Hm yes I agree that might not be very clear, there's a square at the right side of your base under the tree. That's kind of a field where a worker can gather food.

I found out it's pretty hard to make sure players know what to do.
