Browsing on Amazon's Deals of the Day yesterday, and spotted this for only £45

Obviously I had to buy it!!!

Easter Friday, though, and Sister's here, so won't get the time to play until later on.
Bah, humbug!!

Is that a projector?

Only does 640x480 output, but has a HDMI and VGA inputs.
Had to buy a "screen" (that black thing it's currently sat on, which is obviously white on the other side!) which cost another £22. *tsk*

That was me, yesterday.
"When would I ever use it?"
"I don't ever watch many movies"
"Nah, I really don't need it."
"I'd have to fit the screen up, too."
"It's a hassle more than a .. Oops, bought it!"

I'm kind of like that too. But I also think - if I don't get it at this price now...

I always toyed with the idea of a projector. Never really had a room big enough though.

We have a winner:-

Managed to set the SDK thing up correctly it seems, great it's got an emulator before you can chuck it up on the device!

Time for a bit of a delve! \o/

You can see the pixels, but it's only a £45 640x480 projector. What do you expect!!?

The screen I ordered (100 foot!!) is slightly larger than the width of the two bookcases, so it got a bit crinkly in the top left corner.
I'll probably keep fiddling with that.
But size wise, it's almost spot on, especially since the end size is based on distance, and the projector's position.. not something that's scalable!

Having the audio come from the projector, which is obviously at the opposite side of the room as the screen, is a little disconcerting.
I might need to hook up some proper speakers.
There's a 3.5mm Jack to do that, so no biggy.

Game test was, of course, Spike Dislike!

It's OK at full speed, but it has roughly a 2 frame blur going on. To be fair, I was expecting worse, given that it's going from an iPad to an Apple TV, then to the projector, which is obviously then scaling it, before projecting it.
.. Given all of that, I'd say it coped admirably!!

Issue #1
Running out of plug sockets!

Issue #2
Can't code very well in the dark.
Currently watching Mythbusters on iPad like I normally do, instead of via the mega-screen.
It's ok if you're settling down to watch something, but ... I rarely do that! I'm a coder first, and a TV-in-the-Background kinda guy.

Pardon the pun, but I thought it was a piss take, which, it is, but like....

"Oh aye... Just gonna lob me shlong out in a huge field and, well, stick it in a tube... This is why I love golf me, the freedom see"

Nor... An excellent future purchase me thinks!
