Hello World

Things are getting a bit samey in the newsletter.
I feel like I want to shake things up a bit, but am
unsure as to what exactly I should be shaking.

I like the freeware section, but bit.ly's records
are showing it's a little hit and miss, with only 3
clicks from the past 2 week's newsletters.
(Although, plenty of folk clicked the Slave Maker
          thing, from the week before!!)

I guess everyone here frequents enough forums and
game sites that they've already seen half of these
by the time the newsletter turns up.
          hmm..

          Need new stuffs, then...

If you've any thoughts, let me know.

Network Chaos

When everything you own has a different operating
system (or even worse, when they have the SAME
operating system) you can have one heck of a time
trying to get everything to network nicely.

Organising lots and lots and lots...

If I like this, and I also like that, but there's
thousands of things, how on earth do you search for
"People who liked this also like...."?

Muro

The folks over at DeviantART have put together a
          HTML5 based art doodley thing.
It's not fantastic, but it could grow into
          something great.

The Matrix

This week, DD and Phoenix decided to head back into
the Matrix, and head off down to the pub.
You can relive their adventure, right here!
socoder.net/?blogs=23822

The Robot

Cower posted his first Android game a couple of
weeks ago, and this is a nice recap of how things
          have gone, since.
socoder.net/?blogs=23823

The Hunt

DD, for reasons unknown, decided to create a batch
          of multicoloured search boxes.
They're here if you want a play with them!
socoder.net/?blogs=23826

The Map

Waroffice has been working to get a scrolling
          tilemap up and running.
Tilemaps need not be a pain. ... .. But they
          usually are.

GIMME DA CODEZ!

PHP robots.txt parser

HoboBen's created a nice PHP program that grabs a
robots file from a server, and figures out if it
          should be accessing said server.

     @Jayenkai
What's the stupidest coding bug you ever struggled
to fix, only to realise it was something blindingly
          obvious?

     @terrypaton1
Subtracting from a uint and not understanding why
it never went into negatives (n00b)

     @JasonKelk
I once spent half an hour trying to fix some
graphical distortion that was actually monitor
          burn-in, does that count?
