It's "distance from prod" sort of sliding stuff..
(Ie, Center where touch lands, then if distance travelled > threshold, move in that direction.)

Spinal's been using that for all his iOS releases, so far. Works well.

Thats it, basically swipe in the direction you want to go. it works best if you lift your finger when changing direction, but it does work if you just drag your finger around the screen, i dont like doing that though because before you know it your finger is at the opposite side of the screen to where it started and your hand is covering the screen.

There's alway iCade controls for those who have one (or similar like iControlPad or Gametel).
