She's so shiny and gobsmackingly fast.... to fast for this old knacker though - need to opt for a car that won't require a chiropractor. That'll be the Honda 2.2 diesel estate thats a bit more dog friendly

Never driven a Celica, I have however driven quite a few BMW's, and quite a few cars with turbos such as: Renault 5 GT Turbo, Diahatsu Charade Turbo and shitloads of turbo Diesels including the one I currently own. I suppose the amount of cars I've driven and owned kind of makes up for not yet having a go in a Celica.

I bet the insurance on a Toyota Celica is as high as fuck though.

We noticed a hell of a difference when we went from a 130HP diesel Mondeo, to a 160HP petrol Civic Type S. More ponies, and 300KG lighter than the Mondeo.

Insurance only went up by less than £10/month.

Sadly it's no cheaper to run a diesel any more like it used to be. Fuel is more expensive, and it runs dirtier than a petrol so requires more maintenance.

Alternative fuels are the future, but mainstream use is a long way off.

The new motor has heated seats and cruise control - and less prone to kill moi from feeling the need to push on

the insurance was about 400 quid, thats with 9 years no claims and me half way thru my fifth decade though

From a certain angle, doesn't it look like a tent..... oh there it is!

I've only been in a car with heated seats once, and I hated it. Felt like I'd pissed myself.

@GfK, I work outside a bit during the day so getting in a motor with heated seats helps a bit, altohugh it doesnae help staying awake

Yeah, it is kinda like the sensation when you're wearing a west suit at the sea...
