Socoder -> Off Topic -> what the mousey has been doing

Again, I'm working on and coding
a demo or game...finally!
At first, the idea and design came to me
in a dream. Maybe I should sleep more
for more ideas and designs.
I'm also looking for another job.
I'm not going to knock myself out looking
in December...cause its slow except for seasonal
work and for the holidays and CHrsitmas too.
I really want and like to get back into some kind of
programming job or something that has to do with computers.

I also have a new workout program that involves
walking, stretching, isometrics, and some bodyweight
exercises. When I wear my Captain American t shirt
I get so pumped up and pysched too.
I'm also reading more books too.

cheers

You thinking about making a game ?. Yes, please do. With an imagination like yours, I can't wait to play it .

yesh!

yes, Steve I'm going to make a game.
Actually a mini-game.

but dang!, its so difficult sometimes to
translate designs and ideas from dreamscapes
and paperwoods into code.
Yet, I'm learning as I go.
But now I have more respect and admiration
for these coders and companies such as Pop Cap Games
and even EB Games for example for the time, effort, code going into casual games...like puzzle games, maze games.
Also such Adventure games as Virtual Villager and especially Ravenhurst.

I need some kind of inspiration, coz at the moment, I have the imagination of a houseplant.

power mousey
You need some inspiration??

I'll give you some but it will
also take perspiration as well.

Perhaps a few others here need some too.

okay, right here now I'm listening to "One of These Nights"
by the Eagles. I even dance to this song too.
By the way I dance and envision in my mind too
is a combination of Oliver Hardy shoe shuffling
and tap dancing. Then I change into a Indian Chieftain
doing a rain dance. Switching back n forth between the two
and finishing up with the Flying Eagle.
As the Chieftain, I spread forth my arms like the mighty
wings of the Bald Eagle and flap as I fly around in bigger
and bigger concentric circles.

a midi theme song of "One of These Nights" and a 2d/3d models of a Oliver Hardy type and also of an Indian Chieftain. And of their own unique dance routines.

but hey, steve
you'll probably like this one better.

Set to the midi music theme of
"Promises,Promises" by Naked Eyes
and the theme song of the Teen Titans:

have a 3d model of Robin...from the Teen Titans cartoon
practice his martial arts with his staff and his boxing and wrestling moves too.

but wait!
how about this??

a 3d mini flying simulator of some your
radio controlled airplanes??
and set to various midi music themes like
"Fly Like an Eagle", "Its Magic" by Pilot,
and "I Believe in Miracles" by Jefferson Starship.
And of course "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" too.

cheers bro

Need inspiration? There's over 280 games in the W.Workshop list, and a whole load of those are desperate to be turned into full games.

The Full List - Be warned, though, it takes a while to load!

Cheerz Mousey.
Cheerz Jay.
I'm sure that something might pop out if I try the ways that I'm shown.

I need some oppinions from some peeps one here...
For example, here is a link to and old CodersWorkshop demo of my own.

Download this LINKAGE

The thing that has me stumped is, what kind of game can I come up with, that involves having a load of alien eggs rolling about a 2D screen ?.

I made that little demo about 4 years ago, but still no game has emerged from it.

What do you peeps think, maybe this could be the stem of the next Wednesday Workshop, or Monthly Workshop.

ooops.....Steve.

I Believe in Miracles is from
Kathryn Kulman.
The song and I sit here corrected too
its "Miracles" by Jefferson Starship.

Yes Jay, steve and the rest of us can get inspiration
from all these games. But it begs the question
where these people who made these games got their inspiration and ideas.
I mean unadulterated creativity and inspiration.
Something you come up yourself..not necessarily
from other peoples games and works.
Real life experiences and music helps too.

Like for example:

I'd sure like to go see that up n coming Iron Maiden
concert that mole is going to. And hey mole, you lucky dog
you! Have a good time and pig iron out!!

just the name Iron Maiden and also knowing some of their music and style. hey Steve....and Jay too:

kinda grim and dark.....
but a lot of heavy metal is.

to the tune of some of their songs:

a peasant woman is abducted in the village
by the Kings guards of practicing dark powers.
She is brought forth the court of the King and his council.
The King is deciding whether she is to be put to death
for devil worship and practicing the occult. Yet, he is trying to find a way to spare her cause she is so pretty
and sumptous too.
He and his council argue and debate for awhile.
The court alchemist suggests that the woman is to be spared
but also assist in his scholary research and observations too. He also has the fling thing for her too.
The King pardons her and with a promise from her not to engage in this sorcery anymore. She is invited to join
the Noble court as both a research assistant to the court alchemist and also to do um help do the Kings' finances.
He is looking for another court accountant...you know!?
For him and her to take care of business..and with some pleasure in the business too.
Yet, the alchemist has other plans for this cute, innocent
commoner. At night..she is brought forth and experimented
on. You see, the court alchemist is experimenting with
various elements and new metals for weapons and armor for the Kings soldiers.
Using certain herbs and other chemicals and indulging in the dark powers himself he transforms this maiden into
Iron Maiden.
She is first frightened and shocked...but sorta likes the new look and thinks its sexy too. The alchemist and guards filled with more excitement...think so too.
She is impervious to nearly all weapons. She walks around and even dances of power and control......

now take this and mesh out the details
and set it to a animated music video,
a movie or cartoon,
a short story or book,
a graphic novel or comic book,
or even a computer game or a part of the computer game.

ROFL, I love it when you come out with that kind of stuff Mousey.

You have also given me an idea for a game.

Kind of Thrust/Defender/Lemmings style.

LOL... Trust me, I have an idea in hand. I will do it with rough grafix for now, but I can always get my sister to hand draw them from the ideas so that I can simply scan them in on the flatbed.

thanks, Steve.

Now report to the hangar dock
fire up your Super Sonic Shuttle
with the PROTONIC PLASMA PULSES
and fry those alien bastard rejects
that didn't make the hatching with
Siquorney Weaver in the ALien movies!
