At work today, the sparky came to the house I'm doing up, he'd already wired most of it, but, forgot about the extractor fan in the bathroom, so, when he landed, I said I would jump up into the loft and feed his cables along... While up there, I noticed a box, so, with my torch, I had a little look in...

Dont worry, it's mine and the father-in-laws house which I'm doing up to rent... Anyway, amonst a bit of shite in the box, I stumbled on this:

in amongst Daniel O'Donnell CD's and other cack. I couldnt believe it, lol... Fancy that eh!

MAXX label!... Aren't most games in that brand programmed in Blitz3D and am I mistaken when I ask if MAXX is a splinter company of Idigicon?.

I have a few MAXX games - got given them at the CodersWorkshop get together in Doncaster a dozen years ago (or whenever it was).

Hmmm.. I'm struggling to remember who did that. .. Was it Gabriel_Knight?

It was Graham Kennedy (Cobra language creator) that done it... I remember Gfk making a snooker game, so ask him if it was his, which he said it wasn't and the programmers name would be on the back, and sure enough, it was!

forgot to take the sod home last night to see if it still works on the likes of Vista+, but aye... Its official, Idigicon customers like a bit Daniel O'Donnell now and again! lol

George Bray sent these, along with John 'Krylar' Logsdon's 2D game programming book, as a freebee when I purchased Blitz3D.

|edit| Someone has been trying to blag those games out of me for ages but they are staying put. |edit|

What's that "Micro Guide to the Amstrad" Jay? Is it like the user manual, but cut down? The CPC manual was awesome.

The user manual is indeed kick-ass. I recently spent a good couple of hours flicking through it on my iPad, and was truely amazed by some of the detailed coding that it taught. No wonder I love this shit!!
PDF available here.

The little blue book is essentially a list of all keywords with really brief half-assed descriptions for each. It's nowhere near as good as the original manual, but it was handy enough when you couldn't be arsed digging out the oversized original! In my days, this is what we used instead of Google!!
